bu bir geçici projedir. geçiciliği, hem sürecin, hem üretimlerin, hem de kavramların sonsuz kez eklemlenebilmesi ve bu sayede kendi içinde sonsuz kez değişim ve dönüşüme imkan tanımasındandır.”sözlük İstanbul” atölyesi, iaps-cs network kültür ve mekan buluşmaları serisinin dördüncüsü “sonsuz bir artikülasyon mekanı olarak İstanbul” başlığı altındaki 7 tasarım atölyesinden biridir. atölye, "sözlük" ün tanımını yeniden yaparken, güncel pratiklerle yeni bir sözlük oluşturmanın alternatif yollarını arar. İstanbul'u yeniden okumak ve yorumlamak üzerinden oluşturulacak atipik sözlük için farkli araçlar ve yöntemleri tartışmaya açmayı amaçlar. “sözlük İstanbul” tipik bir sözlük değildir. sözlük, İstanbul’ a ilişkin kavramları, İstanbul’un “sonsuz kez artiküle olması” üzerinden tanımlamaya çalışır. sözlük, sonsuz kez eklemlenebilecek bir sözlük için bir yöntem denemesidir. atölye, “sözlük İstanbul”, bu sözlük kim içindir ? sorusunu sorar. atölye, kavramları, metin dışında tanımlamanın, yorumlamanın, aktarmanın peşine düşer. atölye sürecinin sonunda tüm üretimlerin birleşmesiyle sonsuz kez eklemlenebilen bir sözlük için 2 adet prototip oluşturmak hedeflenir. Prototip 1 “açık sözlük” tür. Kavramlara ilişkin oluşturulan potların* yanyana belirli bir hiyerarşisi olmadan dizilmesiyle oluşturulur. Eşzamanlıdır. Prototip 2 “alternatif sözlük”tür. Basılı veya dijital olabilir, süreci ve atölye sonundaki üretimlerin oluşma sırasını önemseyerek, belirli bir düzende oluşturulur. Kavramların sıralaması ise yine belirli bir hiyerarşi gerektirmez.Açık sözlük, tüm kavramların aynı anda görülebildiği bir platformdur, tüm kavramlar izleyicinin önünde potlar üzerinde üretilmiş ve açık bir şekilde durur. alternatif sözlük, tüm potların farklı sayfalarda platformdur. Basılı veya dijital olabilir. kavramların belirli bir sıra yeraldığı bir platformdu olmadan yerleştirilmiş olması ( alfabetik, tarihsel vs gibi…) bir seçimdir. alternatif sözlük genelde, tek bir kavramın açıklamasını okumak ve anlamak için açılmaz, o amaçla açılsa bile kavramların belirli bir sırasının olmaması, aranılan kavramı ararken başka kavramları keşfetme ile son bulur. Bu anlamda sözlüğün bütününün algılanması önemlidir, ancak bu şekilde İstanbul’a ilişkin ipuçları elde edilebilir.
this is a temporary project. the transience is for both the process, the productions, and the concepts that can be articulated infinitely, thus, allowing infinite change and transformation. “Dictionary Istanbul” workshop is the fourth in the series of iaps-cs network culture and space gatherings” and one of the seven design workshops under the concept of “Istanbul as an infinite articulation place”.workshop, searches for alternative ways of creating a new dictionary with contemporary practices, while redefining & quot; dictionary & quot; .It aims to open discussions for di different tools methods for the atypical dictionary that will be created through re-reading and interpreting İstanbul’s. “dictionary Istanbul” is not a typical dictionary. dictionary, tries to define the concepts about Istanbul, through “ infinite articulation” of Istanbul.dictionary is a method for a dictionary that can be articulated infinitely.workshop, asks the question ““dictionary Istanbul ”, who is this dictionary for?”. the workshop pursues defining, interpreting and transferring the concepts outside the text.at the end of the workshop process, creating two types of prototypes are targeted for a dictionary that can be articulated infinitely by the combination of all productions. Prototype 1 is “open dictionary”. It is created by it is created by arranging pots* about subjects side by side without a specific hierarchy. It is concurrent. Prototype 2 is ”Alternative dictionary”. It can be printed or digital, created in a specific order prioritizing the process and the order of the final products of the workshop. The order of concepts does not require a certain hierarchy. open dictionary is a platform where all concepts can be seen simultaneously, simultaneousl all concepts are produced on pots in front of the viewer and presented openly.alternative dictionary is a platform where all the pots are located on different pages. It an be printed or digital.the fact that concepts are placed without a particular order (such as alphabetical, historical etc.) is a choice.The alternative dictionary usually is not opened to read and understand the description of a single concept; the lack of a certain order of concepts when opened leads to discovering different concepts while looking for the concepts that are being searched. In this sense, the understanding of the dictionary as a whole is important, only through this way tips about Istanbul can be obtained.
pre-atölye süreci: yürütücüler, (nagehan açımuz, seçil mungan, melis keskin) planlanan atölye süreci (17-20 ocak 2019) başlamadan 3 ay önce pre-atölye sürecini başlatırlar. Bu süreçte kendileri katılımcı pozisyonundadır. Bu süreç keşif sürecidir. Sonsuz kez artiküle olan İstanbul’un içinde barındırdığı kavramların izlerinin peşine düşer. Bu kavramları farklı disiplinlerde arar. Sinemadan, edebiyattan, kent içerisindeki güncel yaşam pratiklerinden beslenir. Zaman zaman eler, zaman zaman ekler. Konferanslarla, tartışmalarla, sosyal medya ortamıyla desteklenir. Sürekli eklemlenen bir sunum, okuma listesi ve sosyal medya p profili oluşturur. (#dictionaryistanbul #istanbulsözlük @dictionaryistanbul) atölye süreci: 3 yürütücü, ve 11 katılımcı ile 4 gün süren bir tasarım atölyesi sürecidir. 1. Gün: -ible, -able günüdür, nelerin yapılabileceğini tartışır. Yoğun bir tartışma ve serbest atış ortamıdır. Düşünce üretim günüdür. 2.gün: -en, -ex günüdür eklemek ve çıkarmak üzerinedir, ortaya konan tüm kavramların tartışıldığı, eklendiği çıkarıldığı, katılımcılar arasında paylaşıldığı gündür. Paylaşım ardından potlar alınır, üretimler başlar. 3. Gün:-tion, -ion günüdür. Eyleme geçilir. Üretim çok yoğun bir şekilde devam eder. 4. Gün:-com,-con günüdür. Birliktelik önemlidir. Kolektif yoğundu Prototip 1: Açık sözlük işte tam da bugün tüm katılımcılar ve çalışma yoğundur. yürütücülerle birlikte oluşturulur. Sergilenir, tartışılır, tartışmaya açılır. post-atölye süreci: atölye süreci sonrasinda, sürecin özünü aktaran film ve prototip 2 “alternatif sözlük”, yürütücüler tarafından, katılımcıların üretimlerinden türetilir. Çoğaltılabilir ve sonsuz kez artiküle edilebilir. nagehan, seçil, melis
pot* : potansiyel, İstanbul’un potansiyelleri_ 25 cm* 25 cm lik İstanbul’un potansiyeli olduğu varsayılan kartlar üzerinde, farklı tekniklerle ( dijital kolaj, haritalama, kavramsal maket, metin vs.) İstanbul’a ilişkin kavramların açıklanmasına yönelik yapılan üretimler
the workshop process: a 4-day design workshop with 3 tutors and 11 participants. Day 1: it is the day of -ible, -able;discusses what can be done. it is an intense discussion and free fire (brainstorm) environment. it is the idea and production day. Day 2: -en, -ex is the day to add and remove, when all of the concepts are discussed, added and shared among the participants. After the sharing process the pots are taken, the productions begin. Day 3: -tion, -ion day. action is taken. very intense production is continued. Day 4: -com is -con day. Togethe Togetherness is important. Collective work is intense.Prototype 1: The open dictionary is created right that day with all participants and tutors. It is exhibited, discussed and opened for discussion. Post-workshop process: after the workshop process, the film that transfers the essence of the process and the prototype 2 “alternative dictionary” is derived from the participants' productions by the tutors. pre-workshop process: Tutors, (Nagehan Açimuz, Seçil Mungan, Melis Keskin) start the pre-workshop process 3 months before the start of the process (17-20 January 2019). In this process, they are in the participant position. This process is the process of discovery. This process pursues the traces of the concepts that infinitely articulating Istanbul contains. It seeks these concepts in different disciplines. it feeds on cinema, literature, current life practices within the city. It sometimes adds and sometimes substracts. It is supported by conferences, p discussions and social media. A continuously articulating presentation, reading list and social media profile is created.
