CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING Students with significant previous ministry experience or other training may be able to receive credit toward degree requirements through Credit for Prior Learning (CPL). Credit for Prior Learning is earned by demonstrating that college level learning has occurred in a variety of settings, such as workshops, seminars, self-study, non-credit classes, training programs, work-related learning and life experience. Students must successfully complete the SD 3110 Orientation to Credit for Prior Learning course and meet all CPL portfolio requirements. Portfolios are evaluated by a faculty member who will determine the amount of and level of credit to be awarded. Please note: credit is awarded based on the information that was learned, not for the experience itself. A maximum of 16 hours may be awarded through CPL.
