To retain their waterproofing, manufacturers usually bond strap fixings to the outside of the bags. This is fine for everyday applications but doesn’t provide sufficient strength for attaching applications, but doesn’t provide sufficient strength for attaching luggage onto motorcycles and, sooner or later, will fail with potentially disastrous consequences.

They have re‐defined how the materials should be applied to motorcycles. The attachment system has been incorporated into the structure of the bag. Specifically, the straps are fully sewn onto the f h b S ifi ll h f ll h material using the appropriate flag stitching and bar tacks where required for optimum strength. Extra waterproof material has then been welded on top of the stitched areas to return the bag structure to full water resistance.
