WELCOME On behalf of everyone at the Football Club, I am delighted to welcome you back to the DW Stadium ahead of the forthcoming 2023/24 season. It is no secret the past 12 months have been a turbulent time for the Club, but thanks to local businessman, Mr Mike Danson, Wigan Athletic can now look ahead to a stable and sustainable future. His vision and passion for the community has resonated strongly with all of us. The takeover is fantastic for everyone associated with the Football Club and the town of Wigan. I also want to pay tribute to the staff, the players and of course you, our wonderfully loyal fans, who have stuck with us through one of the Club’s most difficult times. We can now thankfully look forward to the 2023/24 season and a successful future ahead.
My favourite days are matchdays. I loved competing as a player and I enjoy them even more now as a manager. I often visit our Hospitality lounges after the full-time whistle no matter what the result to share my thoughts on the game and chat to as many of our guests as possible. The atmosphere in our lounges is, in my experience, one of the most lively in football. The forthcoming season will be the third year of the Club’s long-term agreement with our Hospitality partners, Sodexo Live! The investment made in a number of our lounges in the West Stand over recent years including the ‘Chairman’s Club’ and the Boardroom have been very popular and we are looking forward to welcoming many more fans into our Hospitality offering this coming season.
