OBJECTIVES To ensure that all safety measures for all children are observed to prevent any risk for cross-contamination in the Explorers environment among children.

RESPONSIBILITIES The Operations Manager is responsible for the control, maintenance and approval of this procedure.

The Kids Club Supervisor is in charge of the appropriate implementation of this procedure.

COVID-19, also called coronavirus disease, is the name of the disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.

It is a lower respiratory tract infection, which means that most of the symptoms are felt in the chest and lungs. That’s different from colds that bring on an upper respiratory tract infection, where you get a runny nose and sinus congestion.

Other people can then pick up the virus by breathing in these droplets or coming into contact with surfaces that have been contaminated with the droplets (such as by touching an object and then touching parts of the face). Kids are vulnerable of getting infected quickly.

The average time it takes people to get sick after being exposed to the virus is about 5 days. Some people get sick faster, just a day after being exposed, while others do not fall ill for about 2 weeks, which is why the local authorities quarantine people for 14 days.

Common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, dry cough, and difficulty breathing. Less common symptoms experienced include aches and pains, a runny nose, and diarrhea. Some people infected with COVID-19, however, do not show symptoms or feel sick at all.

3.1 Preventive and Detection Measures 3.1.1 Screening of New Guests

The Kids Club Supervisor greets the parent and child at the Kids Club entrance. KCA explains of compulsory procedure to take record of child temperature necessary to prevent crosscontamination.

The Kids Club Attendant (KCA) checks the temperature of every child before entering the Kids Club. He / She uses the baby laser thermometer.

Children with body temperature higher than 37.5 degrees are not allowed access / childcare services in the Kids Club.

3.1.2 Daily Cleaning Activities 1

Kids Club Team disinfect all toys on a daily basis with appropriate 'Anti-bacterial' spray and log in the records in the Explorers Cleanliness Book

Turn off the tap and apply soap

Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Be sure to lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers and under your nails.
