Miles McPherson played four years in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers, from 1982through 1985. After committing his life to Christ and overcoming an addiction to cocaine in one day, Miles went to work as a youth pastor and later received his master’s of divinity degree from Azusa Pacific University. In 1992, McPherson founded Miles Ahead, a nonprofit organization that reaches out to youth around the globe and has helped more than forty-five thousand young people give their lives to the Lord. In 2000, he founded The Rock Church, which has consistently been one of the nation’s fastest-growing and largest churches. Dave Dravecky pitched seven years in Major League Baseball, playing as an All-Star and in two pennant races. In 1988, doctors diagnosed him with cancer, leading to the removal of half of the deltoid muscle in his pitching arm. Defying all odds, Dave came back to pitch a winning game for the San Francisco Giants, but the return of the cancer in 1989 resulted in the amputation of his pitching arm and shoulder. Dave is in great demand as a motivational speaker and has written several books, including Comeback, Called Up: Stories of Life and Faith from the Great Game of Baseball, and The Worth of a Man.
