Drying brings about certain chemical processes that make the leaves aromatic and pliable. Once the tobacco leaves have been cured, the farmers bring them into the factory, either tied in bundles or packed in bales, for further processing. DIGITAL SOLUTIONS FOR THE SMART FACTORY

RECON TOBACCO

Heated Tobacco Products (HTP) solutions are part of Garbuio’s operations. Within this area, recon tobacco is a true all-rounder – it is already in use today as conventional cigarettes filler, as cigar wrappers and is the base component in the production of HTP. Recon foils containing hemp components, or enriched with cloves for kretek, even offer opportunities for completely new products. Garbuio offers various processes for the reconstituted tobacco used in HTP. The various recon products have very different properties in terms of their chemical and physical consistency and their smoke profile. The choice of process depends on the product characteristics required by the customer. Garbuio can provide its customers with the appropriate primary machines and services for all variants. Its recon production technology supports conventional recon as well as HTP applications. For example, Garbuio has developed a pilot plant for recon, based on extrusion and rolling technology that aims for exceptionally gentle drying and a very firm product.
