Fall Cultural Calendar Calls for Movies, Magic, Music and More BY STACEY BOMSER

O

ne of the reasons Weston continually tops the charts for best places to live is because of the City’s commitment to the cultural arts. Each season it provides enriching entertainment and cultural programs that appeal to all ages and interests. It all starts this month with the return of the Moonlight Movies in the Park series. A full-length feature film will be shown on a giant inflatable screen at Weston Regional Park on select Saturday nights through April. It kicks off with Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween on October 5th. The Weston Foreign Film Series, which is presented in partnership with the Arts Council of Greater Weston, begins in November with the Mexican film, Perfectos Desconocidos. A different foreign film will be presented each month, through March, at AMC Weston 8. The WestonNights Outdoor Concert Series returns next month with a musical trip back in time to the 80’s. The Pixels – Retro 80’s Experience will take the event stage at Weston Regional Park on Saturday, November 16th. Admission is free and families are welcome. Bring your own lawn chairs and come early to get good seating, and to enjoy the

food truck offerings. The concert series continues in February and March with music of different genres. On Saturday, December 7th, the City of Weston, in partnership with the Weston Music Society, proudly presents the Symphony of the Americas and Cirque de la Symphonie Holiday Program featuring astonishing acrobatic feats set to music performed by the orchestra, including several holiday tunes. Tickets are on sale now. While foreign films and concerts may appeal to a more mature audience, there are plenty of programs just for kids this season beginning with a free Magic Show starring magician Gary Midnight on Saturday, November 2nd. He will leave the audience spellbound with his amazing gifts of illusion.
