Falcon Cove Math Club Counts Numerous Victories By Stacey Bomser

his has been a highly successful year for the Falcon Cove

The team of Adam Abdalla, Abhitya Krishnaraj, Viraj Maddur and Daniel Xie qualified for the State Competition, where they placed third out of approximately 50 teams. According to Ms. McLaughlin, eighth grader Viraj Maddur came in fourth place individually and will now compete on the Florida team at Nationals this month in Boston. “Viraj has worked so hard to make it to Nationals,” notes Ms. McLaughlin. “He has set new records for Falcon Cove for the last two years. He was the first one to make it to the top ten at the State last year and now he is Falcon Cove’s first student to make it to Nationals. We are all very proud of his achievements. He is an inspiration to all of us.” Viraj is not the only one representing Falcon Cove Middle School at the Math Counts National Competition. Ms. McLaughlin was selected to coach the Florida team.
