4th 4th of July Star-Spangled Celebration – Gather family and friends for a fun-filled day along Hollywood Beach to celebrate America’s birthday at the Johnson Street Plaza on the awardwinning Blue Wave beach. The official welcome begins at 7:00 pm, followed by a performance from the 13th Army Band, Florida National Guard. The celebration concludes with a star spangled offshore fireworks display at 9:00 p.m. Avoid traffic and beach parking by taking a free shuttle to the beach from either of the Downtown Hollywood garages located at 251 N. 19 Ave. and 251 S. 20th Ave. Shuttles depart downtown between 5pm and 8pm and return after the fireworks at 9:30 pm. Dream Car Classic– The Downtown Hollywood Dream Car Classic features dozens of classic cars, trucks and other vehicles of interest. Attendance is FREE. Vehicle registration is $20. Operation Paintbrush – Hollywood residents may participate in this popular program where they may receive up to 20 gallons of high quality recycled exterior latex paint for their single-family homes. Colors available are off-white, beige, terracotta, gray and turquoise. Paint distribution takes place at the City of Hollywood Public Works Compound located at 1600 S. July 4th at Gulfstream Park – A 4th of July celebration featuring an array of entertainment including live racing, family activities, giveaways, entertainment and a trackside firework show. Racing fans can enjoy world-class Thoroughbred racing all afternoon including a Fan Grab Giveaway. The pavilion at Pegasus Park will be serving burgers and other tempting treats alongside the 110’ statue with a free show including a fire-breathing dragon, face painting, and more. Hollywood Beach Sweep – On the second Saturday of every month from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. volunteers meet and collect litter and cigarette butts from the beach.
