Summer Fun for Everyone with the City and County of Broomfield

By The City and County of Broomfield

Summer is officially in full swing and the City and County of Broomfield is bringing a number of fun programs to residents and visitors alike! Whether it be taking a trip to the Bay Aquatic Park to beat the heat with the whole family, taking part in Broomfield’s Summer Library Adventures, catching a show during the Summer Concert Series, visiting a local park during the Broomfield 100, or taking advantage of RTD FlexRide’s summer routes, there are plenty of ways to have fun this summer in Broomfield.

The Bay Aquatic Park is Broomfield’s own outdoor water park, designed for families and children 13 years and younger. The Bay features two body slides, an inner tube slide and racing slides, a leisure pool with zero–depth entry, and an interactive water play structure. During the summer season, the Bay is open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. depending on the weather. Want more information about The Bay Aquatic Park? Visit Broomfield.org/TheBay.

Get rewarded for reading this summer by signing up for Broomfield Library’s Summer Library Adventures. This challenge is available for Broomfielders of all ages! All you need to do is track your reading and other activities through the month of July to get a prize. Sign up for the challenge and keep a lookout for summer library events at Broomfield.org/SummerLibrary.

Speaking of the Library, grab your lawn chairs and umbrellas and get ready for the Summer Concert Series! Enjoy an unforgettable evening of music, food, and family fun brought you by the Broomfield Library. This year’s lineup promises to be one of the best yet, featuring an incredible range of talent, from touring bands to local salsa groups, Grammy award-winning performers and world-class trumpeters. No matter what your musical tastes may be, the Broomfield Concert Series has something to satisfy every ear. Check the schedule and make your plans by visiting Broomfield.org/SummerConcerts.

Enjoy the great outdoors, get exercise, and learn about Broomfield’s extensive trail system by participating in the Broomfield 100! The Broomfield 100 is a challenge to complete 15 Broomfield Trails and activities, all to earn a prize. To complete a loop or trail, it is not necessary to cover the entire mileage of a trail, but rather to visit the site, learn the trail connections, and enjoy the area. Share the wonders of the great outdoors with those you love and ‘check in’ using the Online Passport. Follow the City and County of Broomfield on social media to discover a ‘trail of the week’ and learn more by visiting Broomfield.org/Broomfield100.

Need a ride to these fun summer activities? RTD FlexRide is once again offering zero fare for rides on the Broomfield, Interlocken, and NEW Broomfield North FlexRide buses. Also be sure to catch the Bustang to Estes Park with a new stop this summer at US36 and Broomfield Station for $15 round-trip (discounts available for children, older adults, individuals with disabilities, and students). While a park pass for Rocky Mountain National Park is required, Bustang to Estes Park riders can skip the need for a timed-entry pass. Enjoy free WiFi, power outlets, a restroom, bike racks, and abundant storage space as you sit back and relax. For more info on the Bustang, visit RideBustang.com.
