The Final Countdown: Can We Count on Your Help to Save Colorado Conservatory of Dance?

By Sandra Shih Parks, Executive and Artistic Director, Colorado Conservatory of Dance

Colorado Conservatory of Dance (CCD) has been in a difficult financial position for the past year. In response, we’ve launched an urgent $150,000 emergency campaign to keep our programs alive. Over the past two months, we’ve seen our community step up in powerful ways.

So far, we’ve raised $58,000. We now need just $22,000 more to unlock a $20,000 donation match and qualify for a $50,000 community loan. This final push is critical—and we are so deeply grateful to every individual, family, and partner who has given, shared, and stood with us.

Because if CCD closes its doors, we lose more than just a dance studio.

Gone will be the free after-school dance programs that serve hundreds of students in Title I schools; programs that offer creative outlets, mentorship, and a safe place to grow.

Gone will be our Anti-Bullying Dance Presentations, which reach more than 3,000 elementary students annually with powerful messages of empathy, confidence, and inclusion through the arts.

Gone will be our sensory-friendly performances and fully inclusive classes that provide access and belonging for students of all abilities.

Gone will be our reimagined Nutcracker, rooted in culturally authentic choreography that serves more than 3,000 audience members, and programs like Día de los Muertos that reflect and celebrate the diversity of our region.

Gone will be the Tiny Tots series, CCD’s presence at community events like Broomfield Days, and the joy of seeing more than 100 students dance, dream, and thrive in a place they call home.

We know the power of dance. We’ve seen it transform lives. And with your help, we’ll continue to do just that.

Join us. Help us reach the finish line. Help us save CCD.

Thank you.
