Alpha Phi Alpha Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for black college students, was organized at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, in 1906. The aim of the fraternity is "Many deeds, scholarship, and the love for all mankind." The motto is "First of all, servants of all, we shall transcend all."
