My Grandfather Bernard Lambert and his buddies would travel deep inside the Canadian backcountry in search of that trophy size speckled trout. Little did I know I would eventually follow his footsteps to that very same place. But my adventure did not start there... Paddling around Rock Lake in Algonquin Park became a second home. As a child, my parents would take me there for weeks at a time. Exploring and learning about the rivers, trails, and islands of the secluded lake was an unexplained freedom. I didn’t know it then, but it would be this spot that would set me on a path of greatness. Like any wilderness explorer, my father craved seclusion and unexplored territory. His close friends had mentioned to him about a spot they had been going to for years just south of the French River. Dad brought me a long for the ride and it would be this spot where my passion evolved and learnt the skills to “live in the outdoors”. After that trip, I became a canoe tripper at various camps, learning the skills to guide professionally. We’re concerned less with survival, and more with living, enjoying and learning as much as we can about the outdoors! This is the foundation that every trip we offer is based upon, and what I feel most people get wrong about the outdoors.
