She is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law and is cochairman of member development for the Junior League of Asheville and cochairman of professional development for the Young Professionals Association of Asheville. Miss Herndon is director of annual giving at the University of North Carolina, Asheville. The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Harold Killian of Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Helen Sossamon Neill of Hendersonville, and the late Elmer Yates Neill. Mr. Neill is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega, and the University of North Carolina School of Law. He is a criminal defense attorney in Hendersonville. The wedding is planned for Oct. 5.
