Golfers of all levels of aptitude gathered at Old Overton Club on May 16 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama’s 21st annual Drive-Out Breast Cancer golf tournament, presented by Tameron Honda/ Hyundai. The tournament was created through the efforts of BCRFA cofounders Dolly O’Neal and Bruce Sokol in 1996 with the goal of raising additional funding for the breast cancer research initiatives of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. “We’re excited to announce that this year’s Drive-Out Breast Cancer Golf Tournament raised over $106,000 for breast cancer research here in Alabama,” said Executive Director Beth Bradner Davis. “The BCRFA takes a comprehensive approach to battling breast cancer through support of collaborative and innovative research to help diagnose, treat, prevent and eradicate the disease.
