Dr. Cooper performs bariatric surgery at Oswego Hospital and is a board-certified diplomate by the American Board of Surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine and completed his internship and residency at Upstate Medical University.
Dr. DeSimone also performs bariatric surgery and is a board certified diplomate by the American Board of Surgery. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical College in Washington, D.C. Dr. DeSimone completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the State University of New York Health Science Center.
Dr. Narang provides psychiatric care at Oswego Health’s Behavior Health Services Department. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her Psychiatry clerkship at Bergen Regional Medical Center. Dr. Narang fulfilled her behavioral health residency training at Eastern Virginia Medical School and her Child and Adolescent Fellowship training at Brookdale University Hospital.
Joining Oswego Health last fall was Dr. Ojutalayo, who completed her interventional cardiology fellowship training at Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. She also received fellowship training in cardiovascular disease at Drexel University, as well as completed her residency there. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine.
A native of Brooklyn, Dr. Turner completed her medical training through a sevenyear program that combined the required education for both her undergraduate and medical degrees. She attended the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education in New York City and took part in clinical rotations at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She most recently completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Buffalo.
Dr. Zhurov earned his medical degree from Kharkiv National Medical University and a Ph.D. from the Institute of General and Emergency Surgery in Ukraine. He completed his residency at Nassau University Medical Center, located in East Meadow, New York. He also completed Fellowship at the Institute of General and Emergency Surgery in Ukraine. This Fellowship included training in Thoracic Surgery, as well as Hepatobiliary and Minimally Invasive Surgery. A second Fellowship was completed in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York.
In addition to these new physicians, there have been several physician highlights. Glenn Axelrod, of Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, began seeing patients in the orthopedic suite of the Oswego Health Service Center. Carlos Dator, Jr., was named Medical Director of the Center for Wound Healing at Oswego Health.
