Controversies Over Action Alliance’s Petitions On NASS Election In Osun
CONTROVERSIES have trailed the Ac on Alliance (AA) party pe ons, challenging the victory of the Peoples Democra c Party candidates in the February 25 Naonal Assembly elecon, in the State of Osun.
It would be recalled that PDP won the three senatorial and nine House of Representave seats in the state.

The victory, however, is being challenged by the AA at elec on pe on tribunal that will hear cases emanating from the Na onal and State Assembly elec ons in the state.
Secretary of the tribunal, Mohammed Magaji, on Tuesday, said AA has filed a pe on against the three senatorial and nine House of Representa ves results.
But Chairman of the party, Ogunmodede Adeloye, dissociated the party from the legal acon, saying that those who filed the pe ons were not members of the party.
Adeloye who spoke at a press conference in Osogbo on Wednesday, said the Na onal Execuve Commi ee (NEC) and Na onal Think Tank
Commi ee (NTTC) of the party have directed him to engage the services of a lawyer to immediately withdraw the said pe ons.
He said: “It came to the no ce of the Na onal Secretariat of our party some days ago that some disgruntled elements parading themselves as the senatorial candidates and House of Assembly candidates of AA in Osun state filed some pe ons at the tribunal on the Na onal Assembly Elec ons conducted on February 25, 2023.
“Ac on Alliance wish to no fy good people of Osun state that the said pe ons are not to our knowledge and the persons who filed them are not members of our party at any me.
“More so, the peoners were never fielded as respec ve candidates of our party for the respec ve elecons they are purportedly challenging.
“Sequel to this, the Na onal Execu ve Commi ee (NEC) and Na onal Think Tank Commi ee (NTTC) of Ac on Alliance have directed me, Hon. Adeloye, to engage the services of a lawyer or team of lawyers to immediately withdraw the said pe ons”.

THE Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has condoled the family and people of Kano State over the passage of late Hajia Aisha Ahmed Rufa’i.
Hajia Rufa’i was un l her death the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correc onal, Fire and Immigra on Services Board (CDCFIB).
The minister described Hajia Rufai as a fantasc officer whom she met about 18 months ago and has le an indelible mark in the sand of me.
Aregbesola spoke on Thursday when he led a delega on to the family home of the late Board Secretary at Korau Road, Nassarawa, GRA, Kano.
A statement by the Media Adviser to the minister, Mr. Sola Fasure, quoted the minister as saying, “Hajia Rufa’i brought into the federal service, an immeasurable transforma on to the Civil Defence, Correc onal, Fire and Immigra on Services Board (CDCFIB) where she served. She transformed the office space from the inside to the outside and s ll the transforma on is s ll ongoing as I’m talking to you.
“She turned around the infrastructure rot prevalent at the office building into something we are all proud of today. Today when the ministry has any special event, we use the Board’s conference room. The board room was also transformed, she created a very cosy office space for the chairman. All of these she did in less than 18 months.

The minister further eulogised the late Board Secretary, describing her as a dedicated officer, commi ed, loyal and transforma ve.
“All I have said today is to make you know how versa le, transforma ve, commi ed, loyal and crea ve Hajia was. Your daughter did her best and was a very fine officer who gave her best in service to her fatherland. The service will greatly miss her.
“We commit her to Almighty Allah, we pray that God forgives her shortcoming, grants her Aljannah Firdaus and upholds those she has le behind.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Alh. Ibrahim Habu Sule, stated that Hajia Aisha Rufa’i emulated her father, adding that she was a worthy ambassador of the family.
Sule said: “Just like her father will bring files home to treat and make sure the job doesn’t suffer unnecessary delay, Hajia con nued that same path and was dedicated to the end.
“We feel honoured to have received you and the en re leadership of the ministry into our home today. We know our daughter to be exactly who you have described.”
The minister ended the visit with prayers for the eternal repose of the soul of the departed and divine comfort for her family, friends and associates.
