Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the Execu ve Director of MURIC, had last weekend declared that Aregbesola offended Tinubu and Oyetola and Muslim community in the South-West for allowing the state to slip away from a Muslim governor as of then.
Akintola was responding to Aregbesola’s statement where he said: “We didn’t offend anyone and we don’t believe anyone offended us but they may believe we offended them, that’s why we are apologising to them”.
However, in a swi reac on, he Khalimul Muslimeena of Oyo Kingdom, Sheik Daud Tijani, popularly known as Igi-Ogun, berated Akintola for his comments, declaring that it was wrong of him and his organisa on to have commented in such manner without adequate informa on.
Tijani wondered why an organisa on like MURIC, which is expected to be apoli cal on issues, was taking sides and cas ng aspersions on personali es without taking steps to either resolve or preach peace.
He spoke in a short video obtained by OSUN DEFENDER yesterday.
Tijani cau oned Muslim organisa ons and religious leaders to be fair and objec ve and follow prescribed injunc ons in the holy books before dabbling into issues, so as not to incur the wrath of Allah.
The Khadimul Musleemena of Oyo kingdom said Akintola’s statement on the feud between Aregbsola and Tinubu shows how par san his organisa on is on the ma er, sta ng that in line with prac ce, MURIC is not even in the right posi on to comment on such ma ers.

He said: “As Muslims, we must play a vital role in conflict resolu on. Therefore, in the conflict between
Asiwaju and Aregbesola, the TMC and MSSN all over Nigeria played a vital role in ensuring that peace reigns once again between the two because they both need our prayers.
“So, for MURIC to condemn one person in the newspapers shows they are just looking for what to eat. If someone listens to what MURIC is saying, it shows he is a fana c, and he can also be referred to as a mere journalist. Therefore, he can’t be referred to as a scholar.”
This is just as the the Grand Mu i of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta, Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan, called on Tinubu to reconcile all tendencies in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun.
Reconciling the tendencies, Molaasan said, will unite not only the immediate past Minister of Inte-
