THE OPPOSITION

JUDE SWAILES (Defender) - Having been with Newcastle United since he was a youngster, Jude emerged through the Premier League Club’s Academy system before moving up into the ranks of their Under 23’s squad. Jude is a strong competitor in the Dunston back line and can be described as a no-nonsense centre-half, willing to put his body on the line for the Club.

TERRY GALBRAITH (Defender) - Terry re-joined Dunston before the start of the 2020-21 season after a superb career at Darlington FC in the National League North. He was a key member of the Dunston UTS team that lifted the FA Vase at Wembley in 2012 before joining Darlington to further his playing career. “Tez” was an immediate success at the ex-League Club and played over 250 games for them, scoring around sixty goals in the process and going on to becoming their Captain.

JACK WALKER (Defender) - Jack became Dunston’s sixth signing over the summer and adds great competition to the backline. Walker operates predominantly as a centre-back however, he can play anywhere in the back four. Most recently at North Shields, Jack was an invaluable player and won the club’s Player of the Season award in 2022-23.

MICHAEL PEARSON (Midfielder/Defender) - Having previously played for Hartlepool United, Blyth Spartans and South Shields, our current Club Captain joined Dunston from Consett AFC prior to the 2015/16 campaign. Michael was voted the Dunston Player of the Season at the first attempt. An industrious and combative player, his versatility allows him to play in several positions. He has since gone on to play more than 150 games for Dunston and never gives less than 100% effort.

DAVID ROBINSON (Midfielder) - Another summer signing and an enforcer in the middle of the middle of the park. ‘Robbo’ has previously played for North Shields, and Newcastle Benfield. The ever-reliable midfielder also had spells with Seaham Red Star and Blyth AFC where he captained both clubs. A leader and a warrior, David is another great addition to the club..
