Hablar
de Macro Fotografía es como hablar en “chiquito” como susurrando… no levantando la voz demasiado. No es necesario cuando estoy frente a estas criaturas, se observa mucho, se calla bastante y por sobretodo hay que tener mucha paciencia.
Los actores y actrices de estas escenas, están allí diariamente muy cerca de nosotros, y solo hace falta observar cuidadosamente en el jardín. Puede la criatura más inesperada estar frente a nosotros y seguramente muchas de ellas si nos ven a diario cuando le pasamos al lado. Para la gran mayoría como por ejemplo una araña saltarina Salticidae, nuestro ser les representa lo que a nosotros un gigante de por lo menos dos veces la altura de la Torre Eiffel.
Estos
seres vivos podrían estar y seguramente muchos de ellos conviven con nosotros en nuestra misma habitación, mientras descansamos en las noches o nos ven desde arriba de una alacena cuando desayunamos.
Talking
about Macro photography is like talking in a whisper ... in front of these creatures, there’s no need to raise your voice. It’s far better to watch in silence and to have a lot of patience.
The
actors and actresses in these scenes are among us all the time, but it takes careful observation to spot them in the garden. The most unexpected creature may be in front of us yet unseen, while they surely see us every day when we pass by. To the vast majority, such as a Salticidae spider, we are giants of at least twice the height of the Eiffel Tower.
These tiny living beings coexist with us, sharing our bedroom as we sleep or watching us from above a cupboard when we have breakfast. Few of us pay any attention to them except when they bother us, like mosquitoes, or when flies or hard-working ants congregate around crumbs or grains of sugar.

Pocos de nosotros estamos pendientes a no ser cuando nos molestan o porque son fastidiosos como los mosquitos, archí molestas como las moscas o incansables trabajadoras y recolectoras de nuestras migas o granos de azúcar como las hormigas y dejo para vuestra imaginación aquellos otros detestables y poco amigables.
E
n mi caso, cuando hace más de 40 años descubrí cómo hacer fotos macro con un tubo de extensión fabricado en casa y un lente de 50 mm invertido a un insecto que se mantuvo quieto por 30 segundo e iluminado artificialmente, me atrajo ese mundo microscópico.
También
recuerdo diapositivas de macro fotografías que vi por primera vez. Sus colores y detalles llamaron la atención a la audiencia de aquella noche de invierno en un foto club de la ciudad de Rosario en Argentina.

Y que por más pequeños que sean, hay que respetarlos a ellos y al medio ambiente. El prócer de mi tierra el General José de San Martin le decía a su hijita Mercedes... “ábrele la ventana a esa mosca... el mundo es muy grande para ti y ella!’’

All the images included in this portfolio were made with a Samsung cell phone, Model Galaxy J5 [6], and, when indicated, artificial light from a portable Power Bank.

Todas las fotografías incluidas en este portafolio fueron realizadas con un teléfono celular Samsung, Modelo Galaxy J5[6], y se utilizo cuando lo indica, luz artificia (Lamplight) de una fuente portátil de un Power Bank.
Las flores de un jardín, el roció y otros escenarios en miniatura sirvieron de marco al realizar las fotos. En este tipo de fotografía, a menudo la idea inicial de hacer un determinado insecto se ve interrumpida por la aparición de otro u otros que inesperadamente se cruzan en el momento de la toma.

estas últimas como otros insectos, los cuales no tienen ciclos de vida iguales a los humanos es decir de 24 horas y por el contrario su vida y actividad es constante, sí hacen “siestas” muy a menudo y allí aparece nuestra oportunidad para captarlas desprevenidas y lograr la imagen correcta.

ellas hacen incontables viajes a las flores, mientras otras también de la familia de las Formicidae como las avispas y hormigas merodean cerca de las floraciones. Las abejas cuando encuentran una flor que no ha sido visita demasiado y notan que hay polen en abundancia literalmente se zambullen y permanecen algunos segundos más de lo habitual que son a lo máximo 10 segundos en promedio.

Ants, These Formicidae platoons of ants belong to a family of Eusocial insects, which is the highest level of social organization that occurs in certain animals. In the images they are grouped around what looks like a spring in a desert oasis but in reality are a few drops of honey dropped on purpose.

impossibility of taking the rich find to their nest, they remained very judicious, consuming it for hours, and while some rest and wander nearby, the majority clamber over each other to consume the nutritious food.
Although

Hormigas,
estos pelotones de Formicidae son una familia de insectos Eusociales, que es el nivel más alto de organización social que se da en ciertos animales. En las imágenes se agrupan muy organizadamente a lo que pareciera un manantial de un oasis en el desierto, pero realmente se trata de unas gotas de miel caídas de exprofeso. Ellas ante la imposibilidad de llevarse el rico hallazgo a su hormiguero permanecieron muy juiciosas consumiéndolo por horas y mientras algunas descansan y deambulan cerca, la mayoría y montadas unas sobre otras consumen el nutritivo alimento.

se las ha estudiado, ellas como otros insectos, tienen una existencia que el hombre aún las considera muy misteriosas por su comportamiento de colectividad,
Barrel Bugs,
scientifically called Centrotus Cornutus, are very passive bugs, but when they move they do so in a hurry; they come in many colours, depending on their families and stages of life. A few years ago in an abandoned garden of a beautiful house in the Andean forest, I found one for the first time; it was entirely black unlike the one I photographed this time and it is next to two aphids.
That afternoon when I took the photos I would have sworn that he knew I was taking pictures and even said hi! Total madness, but that's how I interpreted it when he raised one of his paws and seemed to say hello. I admit that when I am in front of these creatures of creation and very concentrated, my imagination flies.
Aphids are a super family of plant pathogenic insects of the suborder Sternorrhyncha. There are about 4,000 species of aphids in a single living family,

Bicho Tonel,
científicamente llamados Centrotus Cornutus son bichitos muy pasivos, pero cuando se mueven lo hace muy apurados y los hay de muchos colores, dependiendo de sus familias y estadios de vida. Hace unos años en un jardín abandonado de una bella casa en el bosque andino encontré por primera vez uno, aquel era negro a diferencia del que fotografié esta vez y esta junto a dos pulgones.
Aquella tarde cuando le hice las fotos hubiera jurado que sabía que le estaba retratando y hasta me saludaba! Una locura total pero así lo interpreté cuando levantaba una de sus patitas y parecía saludar. Admito que cuando se está frente a estas criaturas y muy concentrado mí imaginación vuela.

The aphids in the picture, next to the Big Barrel, may look very innocent, but they are very destructive. In the garden where almost all the photos were taken, there was a very special lemon tree a few years ago.

I witnessed how thousands of these insects and ants that feed on them when they receive honey that they give off when they feed on the tender parts of the plant, and thus unfortunately over time they dried the beautiful and useful lemon plant.
Pulgones,
Sus vecinos en la foto con el Bicho Tonel, los pulgones aunque se ven muy inocentes, ellos son muy destructivos. En el jardín donde se hicieron casi la totalidad de las fotos, había hace unos años un limonero muy especial e investigando supe que era descendiente de una especie que había sido traída de China a EEUU a principios del siglo XX y de allí semillas transportadas a Venezuela donde algunas proliferaron en los Andes. Pues fui testigo de cómo miles de estos insectos y hormigas que se nutren de ellos al recibir una miel que desprenden al alimentarse con las partes tiernas de la planta, y así desgraciadamente con el paso del tiempo secaron la hermosa y útil planta de limones.
Araña
de
Pared,
son catalogadas como Selenopidos y conocidas como arañas cangrejo de pared, debido a sus patas orientadas hacia el frente y que pueden moverse de manera parecida a los cangrejos. especies permanecen en los escondrijos
Wall spiders
are classified as Selenopids and known as wall crab spiders, due to their forward-facing legs that can move in a similar way to crabs.
These
species remain in the hiding places or crevices of the woods, very close to their fabrics made between the walls of a corner and while they watch for the slightest tension in the network they appear very quickly. At first they seem to play with the victims but after a few minutes they are quickly immobilized by injecting their poisons.
Depending
on their appetite, some immediately extract the fluids from the bodies, but others simply wrap them with their net filament and deposit the "corpse" in places out of sight to devour later.
Ekeko Bug,
I have baptized the Ekeko Bug with this curious name because they resemble characters from the Altiplano of Peru and Bolivia and
Estas
especies permanecen en los escondrijos o grietas de las maderas, muy cerca de sus telas hechas entre las paredes de un rincón y mientras vigilan a la espera de la más mínima tensión de la red aparecen muy rápidamente. Al principio parecen jugar con las victimas pero pasados unos minutos prontamente las inmovilizan al inyectar sus venenos. Algunas más tarde y según su apetito les extraen sus fluidos a los derrotados inmediatamente, pero otras sencillamente las enrollan con su filamento de red y depositan el “cadáver” en lugares fuera de la vista para devorarlos más tarde.
Bicho Ekeko,
les he bautizado con este curioso nombre pues ellos se parece a unos personajes del Altiplano del Perú y Bolivia y que van de un lado para otro cargando sobre si decenas de cosas, algunos con mercancías para la venta, pero otros como aquellos que juntan lo que encuentran por donde van. Estos insectos que por primera vez acabo de hallar solo he

Bedbug,

One of them was very still and curiously very passive and I caught it against the light, but others, at night, do not seem to like artificial light sources and flee when they are harassed by that monster that seems to be the photographer.

Chinche,
científicamente llamado Halymorpha halys, es un insecto veteado originario del Extremo Oriente. Es una plaga agrícola y, aunque sus especies son muy inocentes, es una amenaza muy grave para los cultivos.
El insecto deposita los huevos en la

These insects that I could take against light, curiously, are very passive, but at night they seem to dislike artificial light sources and run away when they are harassed by that monster that seems to be the photographer for them.

Es uno de los animales más higiénicos y sin saberlo hacen un buen trabajo de control de plagas al comer mosquitos, crías de escorpiones, polillas, cucarachas, zancudos, etc. Son muy escurridizos y en el día permanecen ocultos atrás de cuadros o en lugares oscuros. Como reptiles nocturnos, tiene ojos muy grandes, lo que le permite localizar a sus presas contando con muy poca luz. El Tuqueque de Venezuela y también llamado Gecko en otras regiones sube por las paredes con una facilidad asombrosa e incluso sobre vidrio en posición vertical e invertida, en busca de sus presas.

Arañas Saltarinas, son un tipo de arácnidos llamados Salticidos o Salticidae, activos en las tardes y noches y también son conocidas como caza moscas. Ellas son muy agiles y están constantemente moviéndose en procura de sus víctimas. Todas las de su especie tienen cuatro pares de ojos y se destacan el par medio particularmente muy grandes. Su visión es de 360 grados y la mayoría no utiliza telarañas pero usan su seda como sujeción y saltar sobre sus presas y en contacto con ellas, en muchos casos de mayor tamaño que ellas les inyectan un veneno que las inmoviliza inmediatamente.
La
que aparece en este portafolio cazando un par de moscas, una vez ella las mato y les extrajo los fluidos de los cuales se alimenta, simplemente dejo a una en una rendija para volver más tarde sobre su alimento y a la otra la dejo caer. A los pocos minutos la mosca con un cuerpo azul iridiscente era desmembrada por Hormigas Carroñeras.
Jumping spiders
Jumping spiders are a type of arachnids called Salticidos or Salticidae, active in the afternoons and nights and are also known as fly hunts.

Cuando
decidí hacer las fotos de sus plumas, y mientras estaba en ello, aparecieron dos larvas muy peludas color naranja con llamativa cola, y de dos milímetros de longitud, ellas estaban dentro del picaflor disecado.
Orugas, estos pequeños sujetos o larvas de insectos del orden Lepidóptera, luego en sus vidas se transformaran en mariposas o polillas.
A la primera que aparece sobre papel blanco fue muy difícil fotografiar; salió de donde estaba con gran energía y una vez sobre la superficie se desplazaba

Las últimas dos imágenes corresponden a una oruga de 7 mm. de largo, que apareció entre las hojas de un arbusto y tejiendo entre ellas lo que parecía ser su muda, es decir su vivienda provisoria a base de seda. Tras su metamorfosis que dura aproximadamente 45 días se transformará en una mariposa.
