And finally … Making distinctions betw een different types of journalism is of course to a certain extent artificial. Investigative journalists can go undercover, and som e undercover journalists m ight prove m ore investigative than expected. In com parison to these tw o form s of journalism , em bedded journalism seem s quite toothless. Investigative journalism still has potential in “the battle betw een the pow ers” of m edia and authority. The use of new m edia and the opportunities provided by the Internet seem to enlarge the possibilities for this kind of journalism , w here access is of utm ost im portance and areas can be opened that w ere previously restricted.
