Sant Pere del Bosc Hotel & Spa Project (2010 – August 2011) Sant Pere del Bosc Hotel & Spa was created with the intention of being a special place. Along with its modernist history, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, and its understated, natural and tranquil environment, we can add the extra value of dedication, constancy, attention to detail, honesty, discretion, work spirit and professional services that intend to convert this outstanding hotel into a turning point in the conceptualization of 21st century catering and hospitality. The proposal contemplates the reform of the existent buildings to become a Hotel, from recovery the architectural and historical value elements and the structural and constructive aspects The hotels 19 suites, each individually designed, invite the guest to repeat his stay looking for a different atmosphere which can be found in each room. It’s Spa, which offers more than 20 different treatments along with a detailed brochure on Ayurveda (a form of massage), transforms us into a genuine place where you are free to relax, renew and rediscover yourself. Sant Pere del Bosc Hotel & Spa are equipped with the very best commodities, however, always protecting its architectural patrimony and contemporary quality.

History of Sant Pere del Bosc Sant Pere del Bosc is an exceptional location which dates back to the 10th century, situated 6,5km from the historical centre of Lloret de Mar (Costa Brava) and which belonged to, many years ago, the Fishing Guild. The original hermitage was named Sant Pere Salou. The story goes that the Benedictine monks inhabited the monastery until it was set on fire by the invading French in 1694, which is when the community was incorporated into Sant Pere de Galligans and the monastery was closed. History then jumps a few years until 1789, which is when the hermitage was rebuilt with baroque style, leaving behind its gothic origins which it had started off with. However, the golden age of Sant Pere does not start until 1860 with the confiscation of Mendizabal, the chapel and the surrounding land were acquired by the enriched “Indiano*” after his journey to Cuba, Nicolau Font i Maig, nicknamed “Conde de Jaruco”, who entrusted a very young Josep Puig I Cadafalch (great modernist architect) to renovate and amplify the estate, converting it into what it became and still is, one of the most lordly estates in Lloret de Mar. His nephews and heirs Pius y Agustí Cabañes, erected the statue of their uncle in 1911, three years after his death. Pius Cabañas constructed an asylum next to the chapel, following the mandate that his cousin, Agustí, had left him shortly before he died. The building work started in 1918 and it was finally finished on 27th August 1922. The asylum was transferred at the beginning of the 70´s and the building was closed until a luxury hotel project reawakened the magic that lies inside its walls. * A word that is used to describe Spanish emigrants that after having travelled to America to find their fortunes, return to their native land.
