Durante los seis meses que Ávila ha presidido la Red de Juderías de España - Caminos de Sefarad ha vivido momentos muy intensos, emotivos y significativos dentro de los objetivos que tiene la Red de difundir y potenciar el legado patrimonial e histórico sefardí tanto de nuestra ciudad como de todas las ciudades que integran la Red, convirtiendo estos en un recurso económico y de prosperidad, especialmente en materia turística, para nuestros conciudadanos. Es un orgullo para Ávila haber participado tan activamente en las diferentes acciones y actividades que se han desarrollado a lo largo de estos meses de Presidencia. En Fitur 2013, en el stand de Castilla y León se presentó el proyecto Google, que por su importancia a nivel mundial, posiciona a la Red en cualquier punto del planeta. Las buenas relaciones con la Federación de Comunidades Judías de España han favorecido la firma de un convenio que recoge la disponibilidad de trabajar y colaborar conjuntamente en la cooperación de temas de interés mutuo. La Red de Juderías de España y la Rede de Judiarias de Portugal estrecharon sus relaciones durante nuestra Presidencia, con la intención de potenciar proyectos comunes entre España y Portugal. Para este objetivo se firmó en Ávila un convenio de colaboración. Otro de los momentos importantes que se han vivido durante la Presidencia de Ávila, fue la visita del Alto Comisionado de la marca España y la firma de un acuerdo de colaboración entre Marca España, Red de Juderías de España y el Centro Sefarad – Israel, por la que se comprometen a la promoción de la Red en el exterior de España.

presentATION During the six months that Ávila has presided the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters – Routes of Sefarad there have been very intense, emotive and significant moments with regards to the goals of the Network, which are the promotion and boosting of the historic and monumental Sephardic legacy of our city, as well as all the other cities forming the Network, in order to turn them into economic resources for prosperity for our citizens, especially in the field of tourism. Ávila is proud to have participated so actively in the different actions and activities carried out throughout these months of our chairmanship. During the travel fair FITUR 2013, the Google project has been presented at the stand of Castile-Leon, a project which, due to its worldwide importance, positions the Network at any given point of our planet. The good relations with the Federation of Jewish Communities in Spain have favoured the signing of an agreement of cooperation, which bears testimony of the will to cooperate together in matters of joint interest. The Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters and the Network of Portuguese Jewish Quarters have strengthened their relations during our chairmanship with the intention of fostering common projects between Spain and Portugal. In order to do so, an agreement of joint collaboration was signed in Ávila. Another important moment during the chairmanship of Ávila was the visit of the High Commissioner of the brand “España”, resulting in the signing of an agreement of collaboration between the brand “España”, the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters and Centro Sefarad-Israel, in which the former assures the promotion of the Network abroad.

Y por último, el agradecimiento a todos los Alcaldes, Concejales, Secretaria General y técnicos que vinieron a la celebración de la Asamblea General el pasado 29 de Junio, donde por primera vez se vieron las imágenes del video promocional de la Red, que sin duda será una magnífica carta de presentación de la Red de Juderías de EspañaCaminos de Sefarad en cualquier presentación de la misma tanto a nivel nacional como internacional.

La ciudad de Ávila, ha vivido intensamente la Presidencia encaminada a difundir entre los ciudadanos el legado judío, potenciar nuevos hallazgos como el cementerio “Jardines de Sefarad”, ampliando los contenidos de la Jornada Europea de la Cultura Judía para conocer testimonios, historia, tradiciones que convivieron en la ciudad, realizando visitas temáticas especificas al barrio judío de Ávila y animando a todos los ciudadanos a conocer el resto de ciudades que forman parte de la Red de Juderías y todos sus recursos, ayudando a entender mejor el legado judío que también forma parte de la historia, el patrimonio y la cultura.

La participación en la II Cumbre Global Erensya ha servido para marcar, entre otros, el objetivo de trabajar conjuntamente para preservar la lengua y las tradiciones de los judíos originarios de nuestro territorio y la difusión del legado cultural.

Con el compromiso y el deber de seguir difundiendo este rico patrimonio que tienen nuestras ciudades, os animo a seguir trabajando con la misma inquietud y esfuerzo que durante estos seis meses de Presidencia Ávila ha realizado. The participation in the 2ndErensya Summit has served to establish, among others, the aim of collaborating in the preservation of the language and the traditions of the Jews originating from our country, and the promotion of their cultural legacy. The city of Ávila has lived very intensely the chairmanship, directed towards the promotion of the Jewish legacy among the citizens, the fostering of new discoveries, such as the cemetery “Jardines de Sefarad” (Gardens of Sefarad), as well as the broadening of the contents of the European Day of Jewish Culture in order to learn about testimonies, history, traditions living together in the city; the organisation of specifically themed visits of the Jewish quarter of Ávila, and encouraging the citizens to get to know the other member cities of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters with all their resources; helping them to better understand the Jewish legacy which also is part of our history, our heritage and our culture. And finally, a thank you to all mayors, city councillors, the General Secretary and the technical delegation who came to the General Assembly last June 29th, where for the first time could be watched the images of the promotional video clip of the Network, which doubtlessly will be a magnificent letter of introduction of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters-Routes of Sefarad at any presentation given by this association on both national and international level. With the commitment and the duty to continue to promote this wealth of heritage of our cities, I herewith encourage you to keep on working with the same passion and effort with which the city of Ávila has worked during its six month of chairmanship. Barcelona ha presidido la Red de Juderías de España durante el segundo semestre del año 2013, asumiendo el liderazgo para fomentar la proyección pública, política, mediática, social y cultural de la Red.

Entre los objetivos que nos fijamos estaban los de conseguir una mayor internacionalización de la Red, la revisión de la proporcionalidad de las cuotas de las ciudades asociadas, y la externalización de la comunicación para que los proyectos de la Red de Juderías tengan más visibilidad. Entre las tareas emprendidas durante estos meses destaca la creación de un grupo de reflexión, cuya misión es la redefinir el funcionamiento de la Red después de casi dos décadas. Gracias a las reuniones mantenidas por este grupo, se ha podido avanzar en temas de suma importancia y reflexionar sobre el futuro.

Barcelona ha impulsado también en este periodo acciones encaminadas a un mejor funcionamiento interno de la Red, proponiendo un cálculo de las aportaciones de cada ciudad más proporcionado y equitativo, y ha elaborado una propuesta para la mejora de la comunicación, que debe implementarse durante el 2014. Me gustaría destacar, por sus excelentes resultados, las acciones promocionales de la Red de Juderías en México, Argentina y Brasil, que obtuvieron una magnífica respuesta, tanto a nivel profesional como de las instituciones judías de los tres países, y que han afianzado el interés por conocer el rico legado sefardí de las 24 ciudades integrantes.

presentATION Barcelona has chaired the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters during the last six months of 2013, taking on the leadership in order to boost the projection of the Network on public, political, media, social and cultural level. Among the goals we had set ourselves were a greater presence on international level of the Network, the revision of the proportion of the membership fees of the associated cities, and the outsourcing of the communication area, so that the project of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters would gain more visibility. Among the tasks carried out during these months stands out the creation of the « Group of Deliberation », whose mission is to re-define the way of how the Network is run, after nearly two decades. Thanks to the meetings held by this group, it has been able to advance in matters of great importance, as well as to reflect about the future. Barcelona has also given impulse during this period to actions directed towards a better internal operating of the Network, by proposing a more proportional and equitable system to calculate the contribution of each city, as well as preparing a proposal for an improvement of the communication area, which should be established in 2014. I would like to point out, because of its excellent results, the promotional activities carried out by the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil, which obtained a great feedback, both on a professional level and with regards to the Jewish institutions in all three countries, which has secured the interest in discovering the rich Sephardic legacy of the 24 member cities.

The General Assembly, held in November, coincided with the celebration of Hanukah in our city, organised by the Jewish communities of Barcelona, as well as with the celebration of the General Assembly of the European association for the Preservation and Promotion of the Jewish Culture and heritage (AEPJ). This way, the representatives of the different cities had the opportunity to get to know personally the European representatives of this sector, as well as those of the active Jewish community of Barcelona.

Para concluir, quisiera expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a la Secretaría de la Red por el apoyo prestado durante este periodo, así como a los otros municipios integrantes, por su trabajo y colaboración.

La Asamblea General del mes de noviembre coincidió con la celebración en nuestra ciudad de la fiesta de Janucá, organizada por las comunidades judías de Barcelona, y con la Asamblea General de la Asociación Europea para la Preservación y Promoción de la Cultura y del Patrimonio Judío. De esta manera, los representantes de las diferentes ciudades tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer de primera mano a los representantes europeos de este ámbito y a los de la activa comunidad judía de Barcelona.

Presentamos en estas páginas la Memoria de actividades del año 2013, con el ánimo de que su lectura no sea la de un informe técnico más, sino que les ayude a entender los objetivos que asume la Red de Juderías-Caminos de Sefarad a través de las actividades más destacadas que se han ido celebrando a lo largo del último año. Una vez más, los municipios de la Red -Ávila, Barcelona, Besalú, Cáceres, Calahorra, Castelló d’Empúries, Córdoba, Estella-Lizarra, Girona, Hervás, Jaén, León, Lucena, Monforte de Lemos, Oviedo, Palma de Mallorca, Plasencia, Ribadavia, Segovia, Sevilla, Tarazona, Toledo, Tudela y Tortosa-, todos ellos han desarrollado políticas activas para la recuperación del legado judío en sus ciudades. Investigar el pasado fue y sigue siendo un elemento fundamental para la recuperación de nuestras juderías. Invertir en el presente es una obligación para todas las ciudades, así como cuidar hasta la excelencia el uso que se le da al patrimonio reencontrado, que es la práctica más habitual entre nosotros.

A nadie se le escapa que este año ha sido especialmente difícil para las administraciones locales y para todos nosotros, por eso desde la Red hemos trabajado seriamente para implementar proyectos de desarrollo turístico especializado en nuestros destinos, invirtiendo parte de los recursos disponibles, tiempo y esfuerzo en programar actividades para dar a conocer elementos tangibles e intangibles de la historia local, añadiendo valor a la oferta turística habitual; sin olvidar los esfuerzos de comunicación y comercialización con la realización de un nuevo y magnifico video promocional, con el que afianzar una oferta sostenible para una demanda especializada de viajeros y visitantes.

GENERAL SECRETARIAT Dear Friends, Along these pages we are presenting the Report of activities of the year 2013, with the intention for it not to be just another technical information, but a help for you to understand the aims and goals taken on by the Network of Spanish Jewish quarters – Routes of Sefarad by means of the most outstanding activities that have been celebrated throughout the last year. Once more, the municipalities of the Network-Ávila, Barcelona, Besalú, Cáceres, Calahorra, Castellód’Empúries, Córdoba, Estella-Lizarra, Girona, Hervás, Jaén, León, Lucena, Monforte de Lemos, Oviedo, Palma de Mallorca, Plasencia, Ribadavia, Segovia, Sevilla, Tarazona, Toledo, Tudela andTortosa- have carried out active policies in order to regain the Jewish legacy of their cities. The research into the past has been, and continues to be, a basic element for the recovery of our Jewish quarters. Investing in the present is an obligation for all cities, as well as to watch diligently over the use given to this recovered heritage, which is the habitual practice with us.

Everybody knows that this year has been especially difficult for the local administrations, and for all of us. Therefore, at the Network we have worked hard to establish projects of specialised touristic development at our destinations; we have invested a part of the available resources, time and effort in organising activities which promoted material and immaterial aspects of local history, thus adding special value to the usual touristic offer. Not to be left out are the efforts made in the field of communication and marketing, with the production of a new and magnificent promotional video, which will contribute to the firm establishment of a sustainable offer for the specialised demands of travellers and visitors.

A nivel internacional nuestra Red ha seguido trabajando estrechamente con el Consejo de Europa, en el desarrollo del Itinerario Europeo de Patrimonio Judío, y con la Asociación Europea para la Preservación y Promoción de la Cultura y del Patrimonio Judío (AEPJ), que durante este año ha doblado su número de asociados, y muy especialmente durante este año 2013 con nuestros homólogos de la Rede de Judiarias de Portugal. Todo esto y más encontrarán en la memoria que les presentamos y deseamos que su lectura les dé la oportunidad de conocernos mejor.

La cooperación se ha extendido también a la sociedad judía española, con la firma del acuerdo de cooperación con la Federación de Comunidades Judías de España y su extensión a las comunidades locales, además de una larga lista de asociaciones y organizaciones de ámbito local en cada una de las ciudades asociadas.

Durante el año nuestras ciudades han trabajado en estrecha cooperación con organismos oficiales como: Ministerio de Cultura, Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y Cooperación y el Ministerio de Industria, Energía y Turismo, muy especialmente con Turespaña, y muy estrechamente con el Centro Sefarad-srael de Madrid, con el que compartimos una multitud de proyectos.

Quisiera terminar con un agradecimiento a todos los compañeros y compañeras que, con su dedicación tanto desde su responsabilidad política como técnica, han sido los artífices de esta labor, y por supuesto a todos las personas que activamente y de forma voluntaria y desinteresada han colaborado y participado en nuestras actividades. Throughout the year, our cities have worked in close cooperation with official institutions, such as the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign affairs and Cooperation, the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, an there very specifically Turespaña, as well as a very close collaboration with Centro SefaradIsrael in Madrid, with which we share a wealth of projects. The cooperation also has reached the Jewish society in Spain, by means of an agreement of cooperation with the Federation of Jewish Communities in Spain, and its extension to the local communities, besides a long list of local associations and organisations in each and every one of our member cities. On international level, our Network has continued to collaborate closely with the Council of Europe in the development of the European Route of Jewish Heritage, as well as with the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage (AEPJ), which this year has doubled its number of members, and very specially so with the addition of our Portuguese counterpart, the Network of Portuguese Jewish Quarters. All that, and more, you will find in this report which we present to you, and we hope that its reading will give you the opportunity to get to know us better. I would like to finish this prologue with my thanks to all colleagues and companions who, with their dedication from their political and technical responsibilities, have been the architects of this work, and of course also to all those persons who have collaborated and participated actively, voluntarily and disinterestedly in our activities. Estatutariamente la soberanía de la Red recae en la Asamblea General que reúne a los 24 alcaldes dos veces al año, ejerciendo la dirección, y aprobando las líneas maestras de desarrollo del grupo y su presupuesto. Este año 2013 se ha reunido en dos ocasiones, en Ávila el 29 de junio y en Barcelona el 30 de noviembre. La Presidencia es semestral, siguiendo el orden alfabético. Los presidentes entrantes y salientes pasan a formar parte de la Mesa de la Presidencia; de este modo, cada ciudad ejerce la dirección ejecutiva del grupo por un período de dos años y se reúne periódicamente. Este año la Mesa de la Presidencia se ha reunido en cinco ocasiones: 4 de enero, 21 de febrero, 9 de mayo, 5 de septiembre y 14 de noviembre.

organisation According to its statutes, the sovereignty of the Network lies with the General Meeting, whichgathers the 24 mayors twice a year, in order to control, and approve of, the main lines of development of the group and its budget. This year 2013 the meeting took place twice: in Ávila on June 29th, and in Barcelona on November 30th. The chairmanship is passed on to another city every six month, following the alphabetic order. The incoming and outgoing chairmen become part of the “Mesa de Presidencia” (Board of Presidency); this way, each city is part of the executive direction of the group over a period of two years. The Board meets periodically, and during 2013 it has met on five occasions: January 4th, February 21st, May 9th, September 5th and November 14th. ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

La Secretaría tiene a su cargo la delegación técnica del grupo, asignada en cada una de las ciudades según criterio propio con personal de adscripción municipal. Este equipo técnico se ha reunido cinco veces para asuntos generales, además de las comisiones que se crean entorno a los proyectos de mayor envergadura.

ESTRUCTURA ORGANIZATIVA

Este año 2013 se ha añadido además un nuevo comité, denominado Grupo de Reflexión, que tiene por objetivo, como su nombre indica, reflexionar y hacer propuestas estructurales de futuro. Está compuesto por las ciudades de Ávila, Barcelona, Besalú, Cáceres, Calahorra, Córdoba, Lucena, Segovia, Sevilla y Toledo.

The activities of the chairmanship, the Board of Presidency and the councillors are coordinated through the General Secretariat, with headquarters in Girona, with the support of the Patronat Call de Girona, and with Mrs. Assumpció Hosta being currently the General Secretary. In this year 2013 there has been added a new committee, called “Grupo de Reflexion” (Group of Deliberation), whose aim, as its name indicates, is to deliberate on, and to offer structural proposals for, the future. It is formed by the cities of Ávila, Barcelona, Cáceres, Calahorra, Lucena, Segovia, Sevilla and Toledo. The Secretariat is in charge of the technical delegation of the group, the members of which are designated by each city, according to their own criteria, from their staff of municipal civil servants. Nuestras ciudades, las 24 ciudades que forman los Caminos de Sefarad, están en la Red por el hecho de querer preservar su patrimonio cultural, legado por las comunidades judías en tiempos antiguos, ya sea arquitectónico, museístico, documental, lingüístico o de tradiciones, y nuestra preocupación es que esta recuperación muestre su autenticidad, seriamente avalada por la comunidad científica, ya sean arqueólogos, historiadores, epigrafistas u otros.

La cultura en la Red de Juderías se manifiesta a través de las actividades encaminadas a mostrar el patrimonio tangible e intangible de las ciudades que la integran.

Por ello, si bien muchas de las energías y de los recursos de la Red se emplean en difundir esta cultura, nuestras ciudades se preocupan en documentar y conservar en buen estado este precioso legado, restaurándolo si es preciso. Por otra parte, hay también un patrimonio intangible como costumbres, fiestas o gastronomía, que nos han llegado a través de algunos documentos, en ocasiones con todo su esplendor, y otras veces nos obliga a largas y dificultosas investigaciones. Así hoy, además de música sefardí, festivales de cine y representaciones medievales, en nuestras ciudades se celebra Janucá o Fiesta de las Luces, compartimos Rosh Ha Shanà, el año nuevo judío, Purim, Pesaj, Pascua Florida y Shavuot, Pascua Granada según calendario, a menudo en los mismos días. El conocimiento de estas fiestas nos muestra asimismo la gastronomía de las mismas que casa con el ciclo agrícola, como es natural, pero también con los lugares a los que la Diáspora llevó a este pueblo de tradición milenaria. Todo ello forma parte del patrimonio cultural judío que las ciudades de la Red queremos preservar y difundir, como una parte importante de nuestro patrimonio común. Por medio de la programación de actividades, celebraciones, exposiciones, o los eventos institucionalesmostramos a visitantes y locales el acervo centenario del Itinerario Cultural que integra los Caminos de Sefarad.

culture section The culture section of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters is dedicated to those activities revealing the material and immaterial heritage of its member cities. Our cities, the 24 cities forming the Routes of Sefarad, have formed the Network because they wish to preserve their cultural heritage left by the Jewish communities in former times, whether this is architectural, documental, linguistic, or traditional. It is our concern to assure that this recovery presents the heritage authentically, with the serious guarantee of the scientific community, be it archaeologists, historians, epigraphists, or others. Therefore, and even though much energy and many resources of the Network are employed in promoting this culture, our cities also are concerned about documenting and conserving this precious legacy, restoring it if necessary. On the other hand there is also aimmaterial heritage, such as customs, festivities, or gastronomy, which has come to our knowledge by means of old documents and which, in some cases, has survived in all its contents and splendour, whereas in other cases it has been recovered after long and difficult research. This way, our cities nowadays not only offer Sephardic music, Jewish film festivals and medieval performances, but they also celebrate Hanukkah, or Festivity of Lights, as it is generally known, and we share the celebration of Rosh ha Shana, the –Jewish New Year-, Purim, Pesach–Eastern-, and Shavuot –Pentecost-, depending on the kind of calendar, but often taking place during the same days. The knowledge of these festivities also teaches us about their gastronomy, which often is linked to the agricultural cycle, but also to the places where the Diaspora has led this people with its millenary tradition. All this is part of the Jewish cultural heritage that the cities of the Network want to preserve and promote as an important part of our joint heritage. And it is done by means of programs of activities, exhibitions or institutional events, which show both visitors and locals the centenary heritage of the Cultural Route formed by the Routes of Sefarad.

Debido a la gran acogida que está teniendo el programa RASGO, al que se van sumando constantemente nuevas adhesiones, también se editó una nueva versión actualizada de la guía de establecimientos RASGO, en versión bilingüe, español-inglés.

Exposiciones: En el marco de las acciones realizadas en cooperación con las Oficinas Españolas de Turismo, la oficina de Copenhague celebró la Noche Blanca –Kulturnatten- con una exposición de fotografías de la Red de Juderías de España, que contó con una numerosa afluencia de público. De enero a mayo se pudo ver la exposición itinerante “La Historia Judía de Andalucía”en las ciudades de Jaén, Lucena y Córdoba. Se trata de una exposición producida y comisariada por el Centro Sefarad-Israel, que permite al visitante hacer un recorrido por la historia, el legado y la presencia de las comunidades judías en el territorio andaluz.

Publications As every year, the Network has edited its already traditional almanac, whose particularity lies in combining the Christian Gregorian calendar with the Hebrew calendar, featuring the most important festivities of both. Due to the great success the RASGO program is experiencing, constantly receiving new subscriptions, there has also been edited a new, updated version of the brochure featuring the establishments subscribed to RASGO, in bi-lingual version: Spanish and English.

Exhibitions Among the activities carried out in collaboration with the Spanish Tourist Offices, the office in Copenhague has celebrated the Night of Culture –Kulturnatten-, with a photographic exhibition of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters, which has gathered a numerous public. From January to May, the travelling exhibition “La HistoriaJudía de Andalucía” (The Jewish history of Andalusia) could be seen in the cities of Jaén, Lucena and Córdoba. The exhibition has been produced and curated by Centro Sefarad-Israel, and takes the visitor on a tour through the history, the legacy and the presence of the Jewish communities in Andalusian territory.

Otra exposición a destacar ha sido “Las Lenguas del Judaísmo”, que se mostró en el Museo de Historia de los Judíos de Girona. La exposición trata de las diferentes lenguas que han sido utilizadas mayoritariamente por el pueblo judío a lo largo de su historia –el hebreo, el yiddish, el judeo-español (ladino) y el catalán medieval-, complementada con un ciclo de cinco conferencias sobre el tema.

Alrededor del Día Internacional de la Memoria del Holocausto y de los Crímenes contra la Humanidad, se organizaron sendas exposiciones temporales en Barcelona –bajo el título “La Shoah: que, qui, com, quan, on, perquè?”- y Oviedo “Auschwitz-Birkenau: Una mirada al pasado”. También siguen circulando algunas de las exposiciones producidas por la Red en años anteriores, como “Armonías de Azul y Ocre” (Toledo), o “Esencia de Sefarad” (Córdoba).

Festivales de Cine y Música: Entre la oferta cinematográfica y musical de la Red cabe destacar en primer lugar, por su antigüedad, el festival de Cine Judío de Barcelona, que este año se celebró por decimoquinta vez, con un total de 14 películas procedente de diferentes países. El festival contó con la presencia de varios de los directores de las películas mostradas. También Girona, León, Oviedo, Palma de Mallorca y Segovia han ofrecido otro año su ciclo de cine judío, con una programación interesante y variada.

Another exhibition to point out is the one produced by, and shown at, the Museum of Jewish History in Girona, “Las Lenguas del Judaísmo” (The Languages of Judaism). The exhibition deals with the different languages mainly used by the Jewish people throughout their history: Hebrew, Yiddish, Judeo-Spanish and medieval Catalan, and it has been complemented by a series of lectures on that subject. On occasion of the International Holocaust remembrance Day there have been organised two temporary exhibitions in Barcelona and Oviedo, under the title “La Shoah: que, qui, com, quan, on, perquè?” (The Shoah: what, who, how, when, where, why?), and “Auschwitz-Birkenau: Unamirada al pasado” (Auschwitz-Birkenau: A look into the Past), respectively. Furthermore there continue to circulate some of the exhibitions produced by the Network in former years, such as “Armonías de Azul y Ocre” (Harmonies in Blue and Ochre), shown in Toledo, or “Esencia de Sefarad” (Essence of Sefarad), shown in Córdoba.

Film and music festivals Among the varied offer of cinema and music of the Network, firstly, because of its years of existence, there has to be pointed out the Jewish Film Festival of Barcelona, which this year has been celebrated for the fifteenth time, with 14 films from different countries. The festival also counted on the presence of several directors of the films on show. Also Girona, León, Oviedo, Palma de Mallorca and Segovia have offered yet another year their series of Jewish cinema, with interesting and varied programs.

Another consolidated annual festival is the International Festival of Sephardic Music in Córdoba, already into its twelfth edition. The musical program was complemented by a series of activities and workshops dealing with Sephardic culture.

Girona ha ofrecido en su veintésima edición el festival “Nits del Call” durante el mes de agosto. Además de los festivales, la mayoría de las ciudades programaron actividades culturales relacionadas con la música; y, lo que es más importante, se está desarrollando una magnífica labor de adaptación de repertorios musicales entre grupos y artistas en cada ciudad.

Conferencias y seminarios:

En coorganización con la Sociedad de Estudios Sefardíes, se celebró en Girona el Tercer Simposio Internacional sobre Familia, Sociedad y Vida Cotidiana en el Mundo Sefardí, donde medio centenar de especialistas en la materia presentaron sus avances en el estudio de este campo. También se desarrolló en Girona el anual ciclo de conferencias, que este año versó sobre las lenguas del judaísmo.

Conferencias y cursos

Entre las numerosas conferencias y seminarios ofrecidos en las diferentes ciudades de la Red cabe destacar el ciclo de conferencias que dio la escritora francesa de origen marroquí y ascendencia sefardí, Line Amselem, en las ciudades de Calahorra, Estella-Lizarra, Barcelona, Girona, Córdoba y Sevilla.

Uno de los festivales más consolidados es el Festival Internacional de Música Sefardí de Córdoba, este año ya en su duodécima edición. La programación musical fue complementada con una serie de actividades y talleres alrededor de la cultura sefardí.

Girona has offered this year the 20th edition of “Nits al Call” (Nights at the Jewish Quarter), during the month of August. Besides those festivals, most of the member cities have organised cultural activities related to music; and, still more important, there is being done a great job of adapting the musical repertoire of groups and artists in each city.

Conferences and seminaries Among the numerous conferences, lectures and seminaries offered in the different cities of the Network there has been a series of lectures given by the French writer of Moroccan origin and Sephardic ascendency Line Amselem in the cities of Calahorra, Estella-Lizarra, Barcelona, Girona, Córdoba andSevilla. Organised together with the Society of Sephardic Studies, the Third Symposium on Family, Society and Everyday Life in the Sephardic World took place in Girona, where some fifty specialists in the matter presented their advances in this field of study. Furthermore, Girona also has held its annual series of lectures, which this year were centred in the languages of Judaism. In the month of OctoberTudela, the native city of Benjamin of Tudela, hosted the 1st International seminar on this personality, where both academics and institutional representatives met during two days in order to review the life and works of this famous man. Toledo and Segovia, both culturally very active cities, have also dedicated resources to their programs. Toledo has organised a series on the Jewish festivities, and in Segovia took place for the sixth time the Activities in the Jewish Quarter, with an excellent program of activities. Calahorra, Lucena, Plasencia and Tarragona also are among those cities with annually celebrated cultural activities.

HERITAGE PATRIMONIO

En octubre tuvo lugar el I Seminario Internacional sobre Benjamín de Tudela, en su ciudad natal, Tudela, donde se dieron cita académicos y representantes institucionales durante dos días repasando la vida y obra de este famoso personaje. Toledo y Segovia, ambas ciudades muy activas culturalmente, han destinado recursos a su programación. Toledo ha desarrollado un ciclo sobre las fiestas judías, y Segovia ha llevado a cabo la sexta edición de Actividades en la Judería, con una excelente programación. Calahorra, Lucena, Plasencia y Tarazona se suman al conjunto de ciudades que organizaron eventos culturales de carácter anual, con propuestas muy bien recibidas.

áREA DE PATRIMONIO En este apartado destacamos la investigación científica realizada en el último año sobre nuestro patrimonio, que nos permitió descubrir y compartir nuevas miradas. Así, en Besalú se organizaron sendas conferencias con los títulos La Sinagoga de Besalú en el contexto del patrimonio judío. Aspectos arqueológicos, históricos y culturales y La Historia de la Judería y elementos patrimoniales. En Lucena, se celebraron las II Jornadas El Mundo Funerario en Sefarad el 18 de diciembre, con motivo de la conmemoración del segundo aniversario de los reenterramientos en la necrópolis judía de Lucena. Además, Lucena ha estado trabajando durante todo el año en un proyecto de Cartel de la II Jornada El Mundo Funerario en Sefarad en Lucena

HERITAGE section In this section the stress lies on the scientific research into our heritage, carried out during the last year, which has enabled us to come up with, and share, new views. Thus, in Besalú have taken place two lectures under the title “La Sinagoga de Besalú en el contexto del patrimoniojudío.Aspectosarqueológicos, históricos y culturales” (The synagogue of Besalú in the context of Jewish heritage), and “La Historia de la Judería y elementospatrimoniales” (The history of the Jewish quarter and heritage elements). Lucena celebrated the second edition of “El MundoFunerario en Sefarad” (The funeral world in Sefarad) on December 18th, coinciding with the second anniversary of the re-burials at the necropolis of Lucena. Furthermore, Lucena has been working on the project of accessibility, which will guarantee comfortable access to the necropolis for all visitors. On the other hand there has also been given a lecture in León on ‘The other side of life: the medieval Jewish necropolises. Theexample of the Castro bridge in León’ (“La otra cara de la vida: Las Necropolis medievales judías. El ejemplo de puente Castro en León”), imparted by the co-director of the archaeological digs at the “Castro” of the Jews in León.

En Girona se ha trabajado intensamente el último año en el Call, en intervenciones arqueológicas que han Excavaciones en Girona permitido delimitar y determinar de manera exhaustiva las estructuras medievales que constituían el barrio judío de Girona, principalmente a partir del siglo XV. Esta excavación arqueológica, que ha dado luz a nuevas hipóotesis sobre la comunidad judía de Girona, es sin duda un proyecto de continuidad en años venideros. Por último, y tras la incorporación de nuevas ciudades a la Red, así como el descubrimiento de nuevos elementos patrimoniales judíos, se comenzó a trabajar en la actualización del Inventario del Patrimonio de las ciudades de la Red de Juderías, con el objeto de disponer de una potente y unificada base de datos de las 24 ciudades de la Red, encaminada a potenciar y promover la riqueza de estos recursos patrimoniales como elemento del desarrollo turístico y cultural. Una base de datos de actualización y búsqueda de información resultará útil tanto para investigadores como para el público interesado. Estas investigaciones se están convirtiendo en un foro de estudio e intercambio de experiencias históricas y patrimoniales, en pro del fomento del conocimiento del legado judío en Sefarad, así como posibilitar la diversificación económica de las ciudades con un pasado judío

Girona has experienced intense archaeological work during the last year at the BonastrucçaPorta Centre, which has made possible to exhaustively delimit and define the medieval structures that formed the Jewish quarter of Girona, especially from the 15th century on. This archaeological dig, which has resulted in new hypothesis with regards to the Jewish community of Girona, is doubtlessly a project which will go on during the next years. Finally, after the inclusion of new cities in the Network, as well as the discovery of new elements of Jewish heritage, work has begun on the updating of the Heritage inventory of the cities of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters, in order to obtain a powerful and unified data base of the 24 cities of the Network, which will help to boost and to promote these heritage resources as elements of touristic and cultural development. An updated data base will be useful to both researchers and the general public interested in the subject. These series of lectures and conferences are becoming a forum of study and exchange of experiences, in the fields of both history and heritage, fostering the knowledge of the Jewish legacy in Sefarad, as well as the economic diversification of the cities with a Jewish past.

Comenzamos el año con la presentación en la Feria Internacional de Turismo de Madrid, FITUR, donde se firmaron los protocolos de adhesión con los Operadores RASGO: Viajes El Corte Inglés, Nextel, Veronia Tours y Vips in Spain; se firmó el convenio con Paradores, y además se organizó un coloquio sobre los Itinerarios Europeos del Consejo de Europa en España, que contó con gran afluencia de público.

TOURISM section During the year 2013, the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters – Routes of Sefarad has become established as one of the most important tourist and culture resources of our country, both on national and international level. Throughout the year there have been carried out different promotional activities which contributed to this consolidation, and of which we will point out a few. The RASGO program continues its development, and there are more and more professionals who are putting their trust in us. During 2013 we have counted on the collaboration of 94 restaurants, 113 hotels and 133 specialised tourist guides, as well as a growing cultural and commercial offer at all our destinations.

International missions Misiones Internacionales

A nivel internacional, la Red ha participado en la Feria de Cruceros para colectivos judíos de Miami en el mes de marzo; la Feria Virtual de Canadá-EE.UU celebrada en abril; se ha presentado en Padua y Bolonia dentro de la acción “La Spagna a Italia” organizada por la OET de Milán; ha participado en las Jornadas Inversas de Turismo para Turoperadores Británicos “España: Destino, Arte y Cultura” que tuvieron lugar en Madrid y Toledo en el mes de junio. También se ha realizado una exposición fotográfica para la Noche Blanca de Copenhague en octubre, una presentación en Israel en el mes de noviembre con la Agencia Catalana de Turismo, y como colofón de todas estas actividades, la Red de Juderías, en colaboración con las OET de México, Argentina y Brasil, organizó en noviembre una presentación directa en cada destino (México D.F., Buenos Aires y Sao Paulo), que han resultado un éxito tanto de asistencia de público como de contactos establecidos con los diferentes mercados interesados en la cultura de Sefarad, con clausura en Sao Paulo por S.A.R. el Príncipe de Asturias.

Jornadas en Iberoamérica

We started the year with a presentation at the International Tourism Fair in Madrid, where the agreements of collaboration were signed with the following RASGO Operators: Viajes El Corte Inglés, Nextel, Veronia Tours and Vips in Spain. We also signed an agreement of cooperation with Paradores de Turismo, and organised a colloquium on the European Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in Spain, which gathered a large public.

On international level, the Network participated in the Cruise Fair for Jewish Public in Miami, in the month of March, as well as in the Virtual Tourism Fair for the North-American market, held in April. Furthermore, the Network was presented in Padua and Bologna within the initiative “La Spagnaa Italia”, organised by the Spanish Tourist Office in Milan. No podemos terminar esta introducción a las actividades turísticas sin mencionar la Gastronomía Sefardí, donde se ha trabajado profundamente en el producto turístico “Viñedos de Sefarad”, cuyo principal objetivo es acercar la oferta enoturística de la Red de Juderías de España a los potenciales demandantes tanto españoles como extranjeros.

Jornadas en Iberoamérica

British tour-operators “Spain: Destination, Art and Culture”, which took place in Madrid and Toledo in the month of June. There has furthermore been produced a photographic exhibition for the White Night in Copenhagen in October; a presentation in Israel together with the Catalan Tourism Agency in November; and, as a culmination of all these activities, the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters, in collaboration with the Spanish Tourist Offices in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil, has organised, also in November, a direct presentation in each of these countries (Mexico DF, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo). These presentations have been a huge success, with regards to both the assistance of public and the contacts established with the different shareholders in Sephardic culture. The promotional action has been closed in Sao Paulo by H.R.H. The Prince of Asturias. But we cannot finish this introduction to the touristic activities without mentioning the Sephardic Gastronomy, where we are working in depth in the development of the tourist product “Vineyards of Sefarad”, whose main aim is to acquaint potential clients, both Spanish and foreign, with the oeno-touristic offer of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters.

ENOGASTRONOMÍA

Durante el año 2013 la Red ha realizado diferentes acciones encaminadas a potenciar el sector enogastronómico. Para conseguir este objetivo se ha participado en eventos, encuentros y jornadas profesionales, que han posibilitado la difusión de nuestro patrimonio enogastronómico. Se han realizado cursos, armonizaciones, talleres, etc. con una excelente acogida, y se ha seguido trabajando en la ruta enoturística “Viñedos de Sefarad”, que ya tiene más de 50 miembros adheridos entre bodegas, vinotecas, restaurantes y empresas especializadas, atrayendo a numerosos profesionales del sector para construir una oferta diferenciada y singular, que cada vez atrae más la atención de turistas y visitantes, amén de aquellos profesionales del sector que empiezan a ver en la gastronomía sefardí y en los vinos casher un mundo apasionante y una fuente de oportunidades.

OENO-GASTRONOMIC SECTION During 2013, the Network has carried out different actions directed towards the promotion of the oenogastronomic sector. The aim is to place the cities of the Network into a strategic position for gastronomic and oenologic tourism in Spain during the next years. In order to achieve that, the Network has participated in events, meetings and professional workshops, thus fostering the promotion of our oeno-gastronomic heritage. There have been organised courses, tastings, workshops, etc., with an excellent reception among the public; and we have continued to develop the oeno-touristic route “Vineyards of Sefarad”, which has already more than 50 collaborators among wine cellars, wine shops, restaurants and other specialised companies, attracting numerous professionals of this field in order to create a differentiated and singular offer. This route, of great interest for journalists and professionals dealing with wine tourism, is showing an enormous potential of demand. The joining of the most important producers of kosher wine in Spain, together with the offer of gastronomy and heritage, are the basic ingredients for providing this route with a singularity which differentiates it from other similar ones.

Esta ruta, de gran interés entre periodistas, prescriptores y profesionales del turismo del vino, está mostrando un enorme potencial de demanda. La adhesión de las más importantes bodegas productoras de vino casher o kosher como se conoce internacionalmente, de España, junto con la oferta gastronómica y patrimonial judía, son los ingredientes básicos que dotan a esta ruta de una singularidad que la hace distinta a otras similares.

Sephardic Sweet Another interesting subject is the success of the official Sephardic sweet of the Network of Spanish Jewish quarters, produced by Productos Campos in Jaén, which has been present at al promotional activities, encounters, presentations and other activities carried out by the Network. It is worth mentioning that this sweet has the added value of having the kosher certificate, thus being more competitive and accessible.

Otro de los apartados más interesantes es la consolidación del Dulce Sefardí de la Red de Juderías, elaborado por Productos Campos en Jaén, que ha estado presente en todas las acciones promocionales, encuentros, presentaciones y actividades que la Red ha realizado. Dulce sefardí de Jaén y SEFARD´ICE de Sevilla

Paralelamente, muchas de nuestras ciudades han seguido trabajando en la recuperación de recetarios, productos y platos que formaron parte del legado judío de cada localidad. De entre todos sobresale, en el 2013, la elaboración en Sevilla del SEFARD’ICE, helado sefardí, una creación artesana exclusiva del maestro heladero Joaquín Liria inspirado en los ingredientes del maravilloso abanico repostero que la cultura judía dejó en Sevilla.

At the same time, many of our cities have continued to recover those recipes, products and dishes which had been part of the Jewish legacy of each city. Among these stands out the creation, in Sevilla in 2013, of SEFARD’ICE, a Sephardic ice-cream created exclusively by the master ice-maker Joaquín Liria, which takes its inspiration from the marvellous range of sweets the Jewish culture has left in Sevilla.

Gastronomy and celebrations of the Jewish calendar

Another aspect with great strategic value is the gastronomic offer linked to RASGO, which by and by is establishing and positioning the restaurants of our cities as references of a singular gastronomy based on Sephardic culinary tradition. Thus, in 2013 the number of restaurants adhered to RASGO, whose peculiarity is offering a Sephardic menu or dish, has increased and been consolidated.

Durante el 2013 se celebraron en nuestras ciudades más de 20 eventos relacionados con las festividades del calendario judío, destacando Rosh ha Shaná, Janucá o el SederPesaj que se han seguido en ciudades como Barcelona, Girona, Toledo, Segovia, Córdoba o Ribadavia entre otras, donde el componente gastronómico ha tenido un peso importante. Hay que destacar el convenio firmado entre la Red de Juderías de España y Paradores para la celebración de la fiesta de Purim entre el 22 de febrero y el 15 de marzo, que ha posibilitado la organización de fiestas teatralizadas en los Paradores ubicados en las ciudades con judería, Segovia (22 de febrero), Toledo (23 febrero), Ávila (1 de marzo), Plasencia (2 de marzo) y Jaén (15 de marzo), en la que se pudo probar la cocina sefardí, al tiempo que se disfrutó de un espectáculo teatral basado en el Libro de Ester, que relata cómo esta reina salvó al pueblo judío.

Otro aspecto que sigue teniendo un gran valor estratégico es la oferta gastronómica vinculada al RASGO, que poco a poco va afianzando y posicionando a los restaurantes de nuestras ciudades como referentes de una gastronomía singular basada en la tradición culinaria sefardí. Así, durante el 2013 se ha consolidado y ampliado el número de restaurantes acogidos al RASGO, cuya particularidad es disponer de un menú o plato sefardí en su carta.

More than 20 events related to the festivities of the Jewish calendar have been celebrated in our cities during 2013. Among these stand out Rosh ha Shana, Hanukkah or the Seder Pesach, which have been celebrated in the cities of Barcelona, Girona, Toledo, Segovia, Córdoba and Ribadavia, among others, where the gastronomic aspect has played an important part. In this sense there has to be pointed out the agreement of cooperation signed between the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters and Paradores with regards to the celebration of Purim, between February 22nd and March 15th. This has resulted in the organisation of themed theatrical dinners at the Paradores in member cities of the Network, such as Segoovia (February 22nd), Toledo (February 23rd), Ávila (March 1st), Plasencia (March 2nd), and Jaén (March 15th). These dinners offered the possibility of tasting Sephardic cooking, while attending a theatrical performance based on the Book of Esther, which explains how this queen saved the Jewish people.

Bajo el lema “La Cocina de la Concordia”, los cocineros Víctor Gloger y Samuel Perea, embajadores de dos de las culturas gastronómicas del Mediterráneo, se dieron cita en Jaén, Lucena, Sevilla y Córdoba para cocinar juntos y difundir la cocina sefardí, impartiendo una serie de clases magistrales a los cocineros de los restaurantes que forman parte del RASGO.

Training workshops Under the title “Cocina de la Concordia” (Cooking in Harmony), the chefs Victor Gloger and Samuel Perea, ambassadors of two Mediterranean gastronomic cultures, have met in Jaén, Lucena, Sevilla and Córdoba in order to cook together and to promote the Sephardic cooking by giving a series of masterclasses for the chefs of the restaurants adhered to RASGO.

INSTITUTIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS SECTION There have been many events and actions launched by the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters in the field of institutional relations, both in Spain and abroad.

The year began with the participation of the Network in the commemoration established by the United Nations in 2005, the annual International Holocaust and Crimes against Humanity Remembrance Day. The ceremony took place simultaneously in many of our member cities: Barcelona, Girona, Castelló d’Empúries, Besalú, Jaén, Oviedo and Palma de Mallorca organised civil events in order to contribute to lessen the forgetfulness which we should never allow to settle in.

Also, during this year the Network participated in numerous courses, seminars and conferences. But we would like to point out, in this limited space, the organization, together with the International ‘Benjamin of Tudela’ Association, of the First Congress Benjamin of Tudela, Other important promotional and commercial actions have been carried out in Portugal, Israel, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil, all of these shared with the companies and professionals adhered to RASGO. I would like to include a quote by HRH the Prince of Asturias, on occasion of a speech dedicated to us during our presentation in Sao Paulo: “Contemporary Spain has the firm wish to maintain the bond with the Jewish world. We greatly value the relations with the Jewish communities. Spain has established institutions and tools in order to encourage and strengthen our relations….among the initiatives it is essential to mention the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters.”

Una mención especial merece la cooperación entre la Red de Juderías y el Centro Sefarad Israel en Madrid, con el que colaboramos estrechamente en la II Cumbre Global Erensya, celebrada en Estambul y que representa un año más el mantenimiento de vínculos estables con los sefardíes del mundo, así como da a conocer su singularidad, extendiendo los programas de cooperación en iniciativas culturales, sociales, académicas.

Especially worthy of mentioning is the cooperation between the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters and Centro Sefarad-Israel in Madrid, with whom we have collaborated closely in the 2nd International Erensya Summit, celebrated in Istanbul and representing yet another year of maintaining firm links with the Sephardim all around the world, as well as promoting their singularity by expanding the programs of cooperation in the fields of cultural, social and academic initiatives.

AEPJ (Asociación Europea para la Preservación y Promoción de la Cultura y del Patrimonio Judío) La Red de Juderías es socio fundador de la Asociación Europea para la Preservación y Promoción de la Cultura y del Patrimonio Judío, que es la asociación que organiza la Jornada Europea de Cultura Judía desde el año 1999. En el año 2005 recibimos el diploma de Gran Itinerario Cultural Europeo entregado por el Consejo de Europa, y empezamos la andadura que nos ha llevado hasta hoy a participar en proyectos y programas compartidos contribuyendo a dar contenido a la Europa de los pueblos.

AEPJ (European Association for the Preservation and Protection of Jewish Culture and Heritage) The Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters is a founding member of the AEPJ (European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage), the association in charge of the organisation of the European Day of Jewish Culture since 1999. In 2005, the AEPJ was awarded the mention “Major European Cultural Route” by the Council of Europe, and we set off on the course which until now has led us to participate in shared projects and programs destined to give contents to a Europe og joint people.

During 2013, the association has set on a process of increasing its membership, admitting into its midst organisation who share our vision of a future where citizens feel truly European, and share not only an identity, but also the values and the goals of making known the contribution of Judaism, in all ages, to that common process. we would like to give a heartfelt welcome to the new members: the “Rede de Judiarias de Portugal” (Network of Portuguese Jewish Quarters), which is formed by 20 Portuguese cities, and the UnionedelleComunitàEbraicheItaliane, UCEI, (Union of Jewish Communities in Italy), which represents 21 Jewish Italian communities. The association has participated actively in numerous courses, seminaries and meetings, such as: “Crossroads of Europe” and “Cultural Routes as a driving force for developing a European identity”, or the “Summer Seminar” and the “Consultative Forum of Cultural Routes”, organised by the European Institute of Cultural Routes and the Council of Europe. We also participated in the seminar “Jewish Heritage Management”, which was held in Krakow, organised by the Rothschild Foundation. For the AEPJ it has also been a year of intense work on the creation of the virtual routes, which can be found on its own website, mainly the Route of Modernist and Art Nouveau architecture in Jewish heritage in Europe, and the

Para la AEPJ ha sido también un año de trabajo intenso en cuanto a creación de itinerarios virtuales, todos ellos incluidos en su página web. A destacar el itinerario por la arquitectura modernista y Art Nouveau en el patrimonio judío en Europa, y el de las Sinagogas construidas en madera del centro y norte de Europa, con el objetivo de dar a conocer tesoros escondidos y permitir una nueva mirada al patrimonio artístico, arquitectónico y urbanístico Europeo. Sin duda el proyecto más emblemático de esta organización, y en el participan 25 países es la Jornada Europea de Cultura Judía, que este año tuvo como lema “Naturaleza y Patrimonio Judío”, celebrando cerca de 1000 actividades con una participación cercana a los doscientos mil visitantes. The 15th edition of the European day of Jewish Culture will take place on September 14th 2014 under the motto “Women in Judaism”

En ese sentido, el primer hito de referencia de 2013 tuvo lugar en la feria FITUR Madrid, donde se llevaron a cabo tres actos de comunicación fundamentales para la Red tales como: la firma con los operadores RASGO del protocolo de adhesión, que congregó a unas 50 personas en la sala de prensa del stand de Castilla y León; la presentación del proyecto Caminos de Sefarad y de la Sefarad Card, evento central en la feria y, por último, la firma del Convenio con Paradores.

Thus, the first important milestone of reference took place at the travel fair FITUR in Madrid, where three essential actions in the field of communication were carried out: the signing of the adhesion protocol with the RASGO operators, which gathered some 50 persons at the press area of the stand of Castile-Leon; the presentation of Routes of Sefarad and the Sefarad Card, one of the main events of the fair, and, finally, the signing of the agreement of cooperation with Paradores.

Press conferences, media presentations and distribution of press notes Through the press departments of its member cities, the Network carries out a constant promotional activity, in order to reinforce the range and the impact of the activities linked to the programs and projects organised by the sections of Culture, Tourism and Institutional and International Relations of the association.

Publicaciones y otras herramientas de comunicación La Red, consciente de que los soportes tradicionales siguen siendo una herramienta fundamental para la comunicación institucional, ha procedido este año a revisar los contenidos del folleto elaborado en su día en colaboración con Turespaña, de cara a una futura reedición. Además, en 2013 se ha elaborado un vídeo promocional de las 24 ciudades de la Red, junto a un banco de imágenes fotográficas de las mismas, para poder así atender mejor las diferentes solicitudes de imágenes que se reciben por parte de los medios. Por otro lado, la Sefarad Card, como tarjeta que fideliza a colaboradores y partners, así como plataforma para la difusión de los recursos culturales de las diferentes juderías de la Red, también supone una vía de comunicación para la institución y sus recursos. Finalmente, como herramienta de comunicación se han elaborado artículos de merchandising, tales como bolsas, gorras, etc. para entregar como obsequio en las presentaciones llevadas a cabo en Iberoamérica. A estas se suman los calendarios como soporte para la transmisión de la marca de la Red.

Publications and other tools of communication The Network, aware of the fact that the traditional means of communication continue to have their importance when it comes to institutional communication, this year has revised the contents of the brochure which had been edited some time ago in cooperation with Turespaña, with views to a future re-edition. Furthermore, in 2013 a promotional video clip of the 24 cities of the Network has been produced, together with a high quality photo archive, in order to better be able to meet the requests for images received by the media. On the other hand, the Sefarad Card, a card to promote the loyalty of collaborators and clients, as well as a platform for the promotion of the cultural resources of the different Jewish quarters of the Network, also represents a means of communication for the association and its resources.

Another tool of communication are the merchandising products, such as bags, caps, etc., which have been produced to give out as gifts during the presentations held in Latin America.To these there have to be added the annual calendars edited by the Network, as a further means of transmission of the brand of the Network.

Así hay que destacar la repercusión de la página de fans en Facebook (3.489 personas) y el perfil de Twitter (1.537 seguidores), ambos creados en 2010 y ya perfectamente consolidados gracias a seguidores muy activos. Son los delegados y la Secretaría General los que dinamizan conjuntamente las diferentes plataformas.
