CONTEXT

Phinisi Hospitality, a hotel sector company in Makassar, takes inspiration from the renowned Phinisi Ship, a symbol of strength, fighting spirit, & the rich cultural heritage of Makassar before the advent of technology.

Building upon this legacy, Phinisi Hospitality has developed Phinisi Point, a mall that embodies the essence of a waterfront lifestyle hub, a collection of enticing dining experiences, and an urban oasis. With a port-themed design, Phinisi Point allows visitors to embark on a voyage to six iconic cities: Tokyo, London, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, New York, and Seoul.

BRIEF 01

1. Design a visually captivating 2D mascot for Phinisi Point.

2. Ensure the mascot embodies the spirit and identity of Phinisi Point.

3. Showcase the mascot in at least two versatile poses.

The 6 flags represent Phinisi Point’s unique selling point with themed areas inspired by Seoul, Tokyo, London, New York, and Hong Kong, signifying the destinations of Captain Guphita.

GuPhita wears the traditional attire of South Makassar, representing the local identity and harmonizing with the motifs on the Phinisi Point facade.

The Icon Logo, inspired by the symbol of Location/Destination, reinforces the mascot’s association with Phinisi Point to maintain brand awareness.
