Our Mushrooms as meat work because they are a whole food, plant-based choice that can be manipulated any way you like to recreate your favorite meat- or seafood-based dishes for yourself and others. Depending on the type of mushrooms you are looking for, some of these fungi may be plentiful or challenging to find. If you are lucky enough to know a knowledgeable mushroom forager and live in the right spot, you’ll likely strike gold. But if you don’t have that resource, you may need to do a little research on how to find mushrooms at a grocer or farmers market near where you live. And, if all else fails, online grocers offer lots of options for the fungi-curious. There are even mycological societies or clubs to join to learn more about the magical world of mushrooms that may possibly be nearby and accessible to you. Our mission is to create the demand of said shroomz and drive the suppliers with your help. Mushrooms. Both meaty and medicinal, they offer a fantastic opportunity to add a wholesome texture and umami to your favorite plant-based dishes. Press them, sauté them, marinate them and roast them… the possibilities are endless. This fungus among us can be added to soups, marinated and pressed to make mushroom steaks, chopped and added to sandwiches and even steeped to make tea.
