Hot Swap and Online Expansion of I/O Modules Hot Swap and Online Expansion of I/O Modules
Introduction
I/O moduless can be replaced and expanded online without interrupting services. Before hot swapping an I/O module, a user can press the indicator button to make the I/O modulesstop working. In this way, security of hot swap is ensured.

Press the indicator button of the I/O modulesto stop the work of the I/O modules. The system releases resources occupied by the I/O module. Wait until the running indicator is off, and then replace the I/O modules.
Technical Advantages
More flexible networking: Multiple types of networking, such as FC SAN, IP SAN, and FC+IP SAN, through combination of different I/O modules. Online expansion for lower cost: According to the incremental services, I/O modules can be expanded online for more available ports. In this way, additional switching

If the pool does not contain all the data that a host wants to read, the host reads data from the HDD. hotspot data in the SmartCache pool is updated synchronously with the source data on the HDDs.

Every half hour, the system sorts these data blocks according to the access frequencies. The system copies data blocks that rank higher in the list to the SmartCache pool. If data blocks that originally have copies in the pool still keep their positions in the ranking, no update is made.

Londonderry Ports Case study Business Need A new data storage solution to enhance their IT infrastructure to deal with growing data and meet expanded business needs. Solution The solution comprised of a managed S2600 storage system and 2 TB of available storage. The SAN was coupled with an ML350 Server from HP running VMware essentials. On the VMware environment there are four different servers running SBS 2008, Ericom Weconnect, A Full ERP Implementation and Maintenance Management System. As a result of this install the port are now saving over £2000 per year in Server running costs and have future proofed all storage needs for the foreseeable future.
