FAT BOY SLIM & CHASE AND STATUS HEADLINE SNOWBOXX
Since its move to Avoriaz from Alpe d’Huez three years ago, Snowboxx has brought the likes of Stormzy, Sigma, Mike Skinner and Dizzee Rascal into our valley. In 2018, Snowboxx takes place between 17th and 24th March and features a full line-up of music heavyweights including Chase and Status and Fatboy Slim plus a full compliment of international DJs including Steve Lawler and Danny Howard.
THE MORZINE CENSUS
Snowboxx takes place at the same time as Rock the Pistes, so you’ll be able to access many of the piste-side and resort centre events for free. However, you’ll need a wristband to access the various club events and full package options including accommodation, airport transfers and lift passes are available from £435. CHALET PERDRIX
Between 17th January and 18th February 2018, the commune of Morzine-Avoriaz is obligated to complete a full census of its permanent residents. Although the dates aren't ideal for those of us running busy resort businesses, the population count is essential for the planning of commune resources and the dates were determined by the central government. The census will only take place within the commune of Morzine-Avoriaz during these dates; Montriond, Essert Romand and the surrounding villages will all take their turn at a later date. The Mairie de Morzine-Avoriaz have asked us to ensure that as many local English residents as possible are aware of the census, which has absolutely nothing to do with tax collection, employment status or anything else! The information you provide is completely confidential and the census is only concerned with the precise number of adults and children living for six months or more each year in Morzine-Avoriaz.
Aurore Tournier is in charge of communication at the Mairie de Morzine-Avoriaz, she told Source; “Having a correct figure for the number of inhabitants in our commune will allow us to get better state donations for things like schools, roads, childcare, doctors, and chemists. It is important for everyone who lives in MorzineAvoriaz to take part in the census” During the above dates you’ll be visited at your home by an agent of the Mairie who will present an official card to confirm their identity. You then have two options; complete the census form with the agent in your home, or take an official document from the agent so you can complete the census online using a reference number provided.
