O RCAS ISLAND

Building Capacity The OICF mission is to “foster philanthropy to enhance and preserve the quality of life on Orcas.” Over the past few years, we have seen great evolution in philanthropic support within our community. One key strategy we have engaged to promote this progress is through our work in capacity building. We are committeed to helping the Orcas parade. To that end, our work this past year included “Boards in Gear,” story telling, and financial management workshops, facilitation of Board retreats, bylaw reviews, and coaching and scholarship support for the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute. By building stronger nonprofits on Orcas, we are building a stronger community. Our goal is to help the organizations that you are passionate about develop strongly and sustainably to keep Orcas vital and vibrant.
