Bar end plugs must always be fitted to bicycle handlebars to avoid injury with the ends of the handlebar in case of a crash or a fall.

If the bar end plugs are deteriorated or missing, replace them or install a new compatible grip with closed ends before using the bicycle.
CORRECT ORBEA BAR END PLUGS INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. The plugs provided by Orbea are side-specific for each end of the handlebar. Check that they are correctly installed. The left side plug is marked with an L and the right side plug is marked with an R in their interior.
Once installed on the handlebar, the fixing bolt must be installed from the rear and the nut must remain on the front of the handlebar. 2. The plugs must be positioned on the handlebar so the slit is oriented downwards.
Once correctly positioned, tighten the bolt to the specificated torque setting of 0.5 N.m

3. Once the fixing bolt is torqued to 0.5 N.m, it is normal that the plugs can be turned on the handlebar if sufficient force is applied. This is a safety feature to avoid damage to the components in case of a crash or a fall.
Before each use, or after a crash or a fall, check that the plugs are correctly positioned (with the slit oriented downwards).
