Ribbon-Cutting for the Reading Vending Machine
The much-anticipated ribbon-cutting for the new reading vending machine was a resounding success! Generously donated to OBES by the MAAAC, our students can't wait to use the machine! The vending machine allows students to have access to their favorite books, with the use of a special coin. On March 17th, the ribbon was cut and the first books were dispensed. Honored guests including the MAAAC Board, OBCS Board of Education, Orange Beach City Council Members, and other honored visitors were present to celebrate the newest initiative to encourage our young readers. Receiving the first tokens were the top Accelerated Readers in each grade: KEliza Morgan, 1 - Jaxon Buie, 2 - Bryce Cranford, 3 - Connor Rayborn, 4 - Grace Hoven, 5 - Seely Lewis, and 6 - Adalyn Martin. Moving forward, students are able to earn tokens by demonstrating exceptional character and leadership, academic performance, or other honor designated by the grade-level teachers. . Thank you to the MAAAC for making this possible for our students!
