he Golden Globes, the BAFTA’s and then the daddy of them all, the Oscars... nothing beats the award season to bring out interstellar levels of glitz and glamour. Of course, fabulous frocks aren’t the only things that take centre stage when starlets strut down the red carpet. Everything is under scrutiny when the flashbulbs go off, so I’m a big believer that a girl’s hair and beauty can make or break her look. Or, indeed, save a spectacularly bad dress!

A special event is about having fun.You shouldn’t have to worry about your outfit or your hair. A little bit of planning will give you a lot more confidence and ensure that you feel and look great. And when in doubt, the classic LBD never goes out of style.

If you never wear your hair up or super-girly clothes, then you’ll feel pretty weird and it will show.That’s not to say that jeans and a hoodie are a ‘look’ on the big occasion.Try practice runs ahead of the event and see what works best on you. Get your hair done and wear your new ‘do’ to a party or night out.
