Elegant I.G, a small family-founded company, is today Australia’s largest supplier of IG consumables.
Since our inception in August 1996, Elegant I.G. has been more than just a supplier. It’s a testament to the passion, vision, and perseverance of a family-driven venture that began modestly in a Dee Why warehouse in New South Wales.
Our founder, Sandro Ianni, fuelled by an unwavering commitment to quality, set out to revolutionise Australia’s insulated glazing industry. Backed by the relentless support of his wife, Lily, and a dedicated team, Sandro ensured that Elegant I.G. was not merely a supplier but a trusted partner to the Australian insulating glass industry.
As we navigate through the complex terrain of the 21st century, the world stands at a critical juncture of climate challenges and energy demands. Elegant I.G., under Sandro’s leadership, has remained at the forefront of this narrative. Australia’s evolving energy regulations and the push for energy efficiency have driven an unprecedented demand for insulating glass units. Commercial properties today, equipped with high-performance insulating glazing, attract premium tenancies, reflecting the industry’s shift towards energy conservation.
Awareness and education have further bolstered this momentum. With rising energy costs and an informed building industry, both commercial and residential customers have recognised the superior performance of IGUs in all climate zones. It’s no surprise then that Elegant I.G., with our emphasis on offering advanced technology from leading global brands, has become the go-to destination for quality and innovation.
Elegant I.G.’s story is not just about its impressive turnover or its 1300 sqm stateof-the-art facility in Belrose. It’s about its ethos. Honesty, loyalty, integrity, and a customer-centric approach are the pillars that Sandro and Elegant I.G. operate on, and it’s evident in every product and service the company offers. From Tecglass digital ceramic printers to Sparklike Argon gas testing equipment, our catalogue is diverse yet unified in its commitment to excellence.
Join us, as we continue to pave the way for a sustainable, energy-efficient Australia, one IGU at a time. The company’s expansion to Truganina, Victoria, is not just a testament to our growing stature but a strategic move to cater to the amplified demand in the southern states and WA. Coupled with this, our Sparklike calibration service centre is set to further bolster our regional dominance, extending services to New Zealand and Southeast Asia.
In a world where energy efficiency is not just desired but demanded, where commercial spaces seek premium stature through high-performance glazing, and where consumers are enlightened about the benefits of double glazing for their homes, Elegant I.G. rises – bigger, better, and ready for tomorrow.
At Elegant I.G., we are committed to elevating the insulating glass industry by offering a comprehensive range of top-tier IG consumables and equipment. Rooted in our family values of honesty, loyalty, and integrity, we continually strive to serve our clients with unmatched professionalism, providing innovative solutions that ensure quality and safety.
At the forefront of Australia’s insulating glass industry, we champion innovation, constantly elevating standards for a brighter, sustainable future. As Australia’s premier supplier of insulating glass consumables, we are deeply committed to spearheading initiatives that empower our industry to minimise environmental footprints. Through relentless dedication to improved energy efficiency, we not only advance the industry but also contribute to a greener, more resilient Australia for generations to come.
Australia’s Insulating Glass Unit (IGU) industry has undergone a transformative evolution since its emergence in the 1990s. From just seven IGU producers in 1997, Australia’s industry has exponentially grown to 107 producers as of 2023. Over the past 26 years, hundreds of millions of dollars have been invested in state-of-the-art glass equipment, insulating glazing unit lines, and software, underlining the industry’s unwavering commitment to technological advancement and operational efficiency.
A pivotal moment for the Australian IGU industry came in 2022 when Australia’s building ministers agreed to lift the energy rating requirements for new homes under the National Construction Code (NCC). The amended NCC now mandates a minimum 7-star energy rating for new homes, to be implemented progressively. This regulatory update is expected to fuel market expansion, with projections estimating a 65 per cent uptake in the IGU market across all Australian states by 2025/26.
The introduction of these updated NCC regulations has bolstered the number of insulating glazing lines in Australia to 92, adding six more to the existing infrastructure. The NCC’s energy efficiency mandates will escalate IGU installations to make up approximately 85 per cent of all glazing in new homes in Victoria and Tasmania, in contrast to 5 per cent in Queensland.
Elegant I.G. enjoys a commanding market presence in this rapidly evolving sector, currently holding a remarkable 90 per cent of the IGU consumables market for Australian production. With a projected insulated glazing uptake surge of 65 per cent by 2025/26, Elegant is poised for significant growth. Based on our strategic initiatives and current market standing, we estimate that our sales will increase from over $13 million per annum to an estimated $17 million, contingent on Elegant maintaining at least an 80 per cent market share. We continue to form key partnerships with major global suppliers like Kommelring and to add quality products and services to enhance our market coverage. Our holistic approach firmly plants us as the principal supplier in this burgeoning landscape.
The appetite for insulating glass is notably rising across Australia, with the most pronounced demand in Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales. Our market analysis indicates that up to 43 per cent of households in these regions have either acquired, are in the process of acquiring, or are contemplating the adoption of insulating glazing units. Energy efficiency and the ensuing costsavings on energy bills are key drivers behind this consumer trend, particularly in cities like Melbourne, where older homes average a woefully insufficient 1.5star energy rating against the new 7-star NCC mandate.
Internationally, the insulated glass market was valued at US$13.4 billion in 2022 and is expected to swell to US$22.8 billion by 2032. The Asia-Pacific region is rising quickly, and Australia holds a significant stake in both consumption and manufacturing, cementing its role as an influential player.
Spurred by the NCC’s 2022 amendments, the Australian IGU industry is on the cusp of significant growth, and Elegant I.G. is perfectly positioned to foster and capture this market upsurge. We are not just keeping pace with industry standards but are active in setting them, aiming to remain at the vanguard of delivering energy-efficient, cost-effective solutions that meet and surpass regulatory benchmarks. As we navigate this exciting trajectory, our vision remains unequivocal—the future is clear, and it is through insulating glass.
Celebrating 27 years of operational excellence, with consistent yearon-year growth, marking an impressive steady growth of 35 per cent over the last 5 years.

These orders are placed through Elegant, but shipped and paid for directly. Elegant receives a commission for this service annually. This arrangement is in place so as not to burden cash-flow, but with the backing of a cash-flush company, these sales would revert back to Elegant, earning increased margins and revenue for the business. Current annual sales should be listed as $13.7M.
