Two Fryburg Team Members Bid Farewell

This month marked a bittersweet milestone at the Fryburg Dedicated Terminal in North Dakota as two cherished team members, Kenneth Berg and Perry Thomas, retired. Surrounded by colleagues and friends, the retirees enjoyed a potluck courtesy of the team.

Kenneth, who served as a switching engineer for six years, is known for his versatility and dedication, having filled nearly every role at the facility. Perry, a crew supervisor for over 11 years, holds the distinction of being the longest-serving team member at the terminal.

What they did made a big difference in how the terminal works and to the people they worked with.

Kenneth’s resourcefulness and ability to step into any position ensured the terminal ran seamlessly, while Perry’s mentorship and steady guidance helped many navigate transitions and grow within their roles.

In their retirement, Kenneth envisions days spent fishing at the lake, while Perry looks forward to cherishing moments with family and embarking on new travel adventures.

Terminal Manager Alan Cheek said, “Both will be missed, not just for their skills but for the camaraderie and leadership they brought to the team every day. They left some big shoes to fill.”
