A key priority for Maidstone is to make the town a safe and welcoming environment for those who live, work and visit.

With these objectives One Maidstone proposes to provide:

• Seven day per week Street Ambassador patrols

• Proactive 24-hour CCTV monitoring of Borough Council town centre cameras

• The Business Crime Reduction Partnership, including radio network and secure website with no membership costs for BID members

• Deep and detailed cleans in the town centre

• A responsive cleaning service for spills, graffiti etc

• A planting scheme

• The Best Bar None accreditation scheme for licensed venues (including awards ceremony)

• Safer Streets projects including free training courses in areas including First Aid, Active Bystander and Self-defence

• Support for voluntary groups such as Urban Blue Bus and Street Pastors
