MCDONALD’S TONBRIDGE The two McDonald’s restaurants in Tonbridge, owned and operated by local franchisee Surjit Manger, are now looking for new recruits to join the team… As you may know, there are two McDonald’s in Tonbridge - one on the High Street with 74 seats, providing a relief from the hustle and bustle of the High Street, and the new drive-thru on Cannon Lane with 140 seats which opened on 28th December 2016. The new drive-thru restaurant has all the latest digital technology, in the kitchens and front of house, with the aim of improving the Tonbridge customer experience. To improve the speed and ease of ordering, customers now have the option to use one of the self-order kiosks, and request table service, instead of collecting their food at the counters. The High Street restaurant is due for renovation in November 2017, which will see a much needed facelift to the entire restaurant. The two restaurants currently employ 160 team members; however, the opening of the new restaurant means we are now looking to extend our team further. We are now keen to recruit managers, (trainees and with experience) and customer care staff to join our great team, so we can continue improving the customer experience in both restaurants.
MANAGERS (trainee & with experience)
The manager programme is the first step to managing one of our £multi-million UK restaurants. From day one, you’ll be based on the shop floor learning how each area of the business works. One minute you’ll be serving customers, the next you’ll be learning about stock control. You’ll work alongside our crew, crew trainers, customer care teams and assistant managers whilst you complete an intensive initial training period. It takes up to six months to complete the initial stages of the trainee manager programme, and after successfully completing the training period and relevant courses, you’ll be promoted to a shift manager and become part of the core restaurant management team. Open to graduates or those with experience of working in a customer facing environment or managing teams – you’ll want to provide a great experience for each of our customers and be passionate about training and developing your teams. In return, you’ll embark on a career with a company ranked 8th in the 2016 Sunday Times Best Big Companies list, where you will develop and acquire transferable skills in a dynamic business environment, as well as meet some great people along the way.
CUSTOMER CARE ROLES
As a customer care assistant, you’ll be the face of your restaurant. In a nutshell, you’ll deal with customers and make sure everything runs as it should in the customer areas. Activities include making children feel welcome, handing out balloons, looking after customers’ specific needs, keeping high standards of cleanliness in the dining area and toilets and helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It’s your responsibility to establish and maintain positive communication with customers at all times and to keep the manager informed about customer satisfaction. Quite simply, you’ll be working in our fast moving, high energy environment and we’re looking for a genuine smile plus an ability to connect with customers and make them feel valued. You’ll need to be confident in approaching and dealing with diverse groups of people. Friendly, courteous and helpful behaviour will come naturally to you and you’ll work well as part of a team. Effective communication skills such as attentive listening, face-to-face verbal communication and eye contact are a must. You’ll also need to understand the importance of maintaining high standards of service as well as cleanliness. The ability to maintain high energy levels whilst working both efficiently and productively is essential. Finally, your appearance should be smart and clean.
