CALENDAR 1st » Castle Celebrations

Get involved with Hever Castle this December as they celebrate the history of pantomime in Once Upon A Castle from December 1 to 24. There will be beautiful decorations and welcoming log fires to see as you walk through the rooms of the castle learning about the origins and evolution of pantomime, right through to reminding yourself of the wellloved and current characters that we know today. On top of all that, discover the story of Jack and the Beanstalk as you follow the snowy Christmas trail and meet various characters. From December 14 to 24 in particular, collect fairy-tale objects along the trail to receive a reward. Allow three hours for the experience. Castle open between 10.30am and 6pm. Tickets cost £16.50 for adults and under 5s are free. www.hevercastle.co.uk

2nd » Beauty Sleep

This year, for their eighth annual pantomime, The Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks, along with company Magic Beans, is holding the heartwarming tale of Sleeping Beauty from December 2 to January 8. Included in the show is former EastEnders star Ricky Norwood and pop girl group Cleopatra. Featuring stunning sets and costumes, a live band and a star cast, it really is a fantastic panto. 3rd » Ho Ho Farm

Join Father Christmas at The Hop Farm in Paddock Wood from Saturday December 3 to Friday December 23 for kids to have a meet and greet in his magical grotto, enjoy his workshop and take part in lots of cool, Christmassy activities. This includes balloon modelling, live entertainment, receiving a gift and there is even access to indoor soft play, crazy golf and an outdoor play area. Entry costs £10 per child (under 16) and £2 per adult and includes free entry to The Hop Farm Family Park. Available 10.30am to 3.30pm. Booking essential. 4th » Crafty Christmas

Discover some amazing local talents while picking up some unique Christmas gifts at Newenden’s art and craft Christmas market on Sunday December 4. From 11am to 4pm in the village hall, you’ll find jewellery, paintings, cards, ceramics, Swedish decorations, seasonal gifts and edible delicacies, as well as enjoying music and mulled wine. Once the fair finishes, head outside and celebrate the switching on of the Newenden Christmas lights. www.newenden.org
