Shivam Singh, MEA (Hanoi) T h e p l a c e o f a m o t h e r i s irreplaceable in child's life and her contributions are immeasurable and it surely can't be expressed in a few words. When I think about my mother, a rainbow of emotions fills my heart. How she transformed from a charming story -teller to a strict disciplinarian to an emotional mother who could not bear tears in t h e e y e o f h e r c h i l d r e n i s s t i l l unfathomable to me. Sometimes it is hard to believe how Mummy managed to wear so many hats at a time. Taking care of her five children (her own and extended family) was n o s m a l l f e a t , c o n s i d e r i n g t h e paucity of resources that we had. She could always understand and write on the intricate layers of human emotions and relationship. However she had to give-in to the tough job of being a mother and sacrifice her literary interest and hobby. Only when all of us grew up and were well-settled in life did she pick up the pen and how well she did. Be it the beautiful poems short stories, her works has cost a spell on everyone. Her literary exploit have been unstoppable over t h e p a s t o f f e w y e a r s a n d h a s authored many books. Now that she is inching slowly towards the retired life, l strongly believe that her best is yet to come.
