Dear

Director’s Letter

OMPA members,

Summertime and the buzz of new productions, large networking events, and niche meet-up groups are underway. Staying connected to your community and building collaborative opportunities is vital to the health the industry. To that end, OMPA is changing our online presence to create more robust hub of information for our members. We are starting the process of migrating our members into our new platform. Labor intensive, yes! However, we know that this upgrade will bring more value to our members. Also, OMPA’s Board of Directors has elected a new 2017 Executive Committee. Our Board President is Jacqueline Gault, Roland Gauthier, Treasurer and Shelley Midthun, Secretary. We are pleased for the leadership of this Executive Committee to continue the fine work of last year’s leadership; David Cress, Board President, Jacqueline Gault & Mary McDonald-Lewis Vice-Presidents, Dennis Gleason, Treasurer. What is on the horizon? Quite a bit. OMPA staff certainly gathers no moss! With the new membership platform migration underway, we are also working toward integrating our website with SourceOregon while upgrading SourceOregon.com. We are also planning our calendar for more networking events, panel events and speed networking events. Also, OMPA is currently gearing up for SourceOregon2018. We are improving our post-productions listing categories and adding a clearer animation section and we are partnering with Southern Oregon Film and Media. If you are interested in advertising with OMPA, we have an early bird special for the next two months only! OMPAmembers, be on the lookout for an email inviting you to our July panelist event with acclaimed cinematographers; Bobby Bukowski, Eric Edwards and Tim Orr. This trifecta of excellence will share with attendees their favorite clips and invite audience discussion. Picture This Production Services & Stage will host our late July event. Right now we are securing the date with our OMPAmembers and super busy cinematographers. OMPAmembers are the heart of the industry, it is a joy to advocate for you, celebrate your accomplishments for you, and improve our deliverables for you. Thank you for your support of OMPA!

Membership matters,

Janice

changes ahead!

Inside ompa the callsheet

Read about a few changes coming to our membership. While we say this often and it may get redundant - we are an office staff of two! These changes may take some time and they require our members' patience while we are trying out new things. Thank you!

Last August, we redesigned the CallSheet for a better reader experience. Here at OMPA, we are constantly evaluating our deliverables. So coming up in the next few months, we will be transitioning to a different newsletter style! This will include utilizing our blog and social media channels - for maximum coverage of our members information. We are excited! We hope you are too.

membership platform OMPA is migrating is a new membership data system. Why should you care?

Well, there may be glitches. Your information may not migrate correctly. We may press the wrong button. Problems will arise and we will fix them! Why are we doing this? This is back end boring data stuff that we believe will simply be the first step to a better online experience for our members. In addition, our staff will have better reporting and data management tools to utilize.
