Aclient puts a lot of trust in a stylist, BUNGALOW/8 Creative Director Rebecca Forsyth said, and being a beauty authority includes considering not only how the client’s style preferences align with details like density, texture, and hairline, but also what will happen after the client leaves the chair and the skilled hands of the stylist. Complimentary color consultation also includes similar a frank discussion on maintenance commitments.

“It’s all about education and communication with our guests,” she said. “It will set up realistic expectations, or we’re good at helping them find a compromise that’s more manageable…I don’t think there’s anything you can’t have, but we are open and honest—about how care for that and what the maintenance will be like.” BUNGALOW/8 stylists are expected to be versatile, Forsyth said. The salon also offer hair extension services and has recently focused on “ramping up” their curly hair program. This includes added training and the introduction of a new product line, Innersense Organic Beauty.

“That’s our job, thinking about hair all day,” Forsyth said.
