Library services have been available in Plattsmouth since 1886. Besides books, CDs and free Wi-Fi, the library offers a wide selection of movies and TV series plus e-books, e-audiobooks and e-magazines. The library also loans tables, chairs and movie projectors free of charge and has meeting space available for people to use. Residents can also take free computer classes at the library. Library cards are free to residents of Plattsmouth, and the Reading at Home program brings items to people who are homebound. Library members have free online access to Ancestry. com (in the library only), language learning software, practice driver’s tests, car and truck repair courses and digitized versions of Plattsmouth newspapers. The library offers many free programs for children and adults. Guest speakers and authors, music concerts, story-time sessions and other special events take place on a regular basis.
