Last Racing Sponsorship Proposal

About Matt Background This year I graduated University, limiting my track time for the first half of the season, so I was only able to compete in six of the nine rounds in 2014. In this period performances have progressed further than anyone imagined, including myself. Graduating from both junior (under 21) and first- season Rookie status in 2013, it was time to go up against the big boys. From mid-table finishes at the start of the year, performances and consistency have improved to regular top five and podium level. Having only completed ten race weekends in my entire racing career, there is undoubted potential for improvement in my riding with the benefit of expert coaching and circuit experience.

Currently seeking sponsorship for the 2015 MRO Minitwin Championship & Thunderbike Championship with the British Motorcycle Racing Club.

A Graduate of BSc Motorcycle Engineering, from only one of a few Universities in the world that run a course of this nature, I have the technical understanding of how a bike works, to support racing potential. My love of bikes comes from an early age, riding from the age of 8 in the back garden, managing to get a bike in my dads garage ticking over, that hadn't done so for a while, much to his shock, and my own. I’ve been within British Superbike paddock from 2012, which has taken me to the Isle of Man with the fist ever Chinese bike, and to be in factory supported Superbike teams.

The Class The MRO Minitwin class is a nationally recognised championship that enjoys a full grid of riders at every event. Class rules ensure that machines are evenly matched, making the racing extremely competitive and thoroughly entertaining to watch.

The Racing Club The British Motorcycle Racing Club (BEMSEE) is the largest and longestrunning club in the UK, emphasising safety and top quality club competition. BEMSEE members regularly progress to professional ranks, and national level British Superbike riders routinely hone their skills at BEMSEE meetings.

In 2015 I will be challenging for the MRO Minitwin championship. With established ability at the front of the grid, and proven potential for further improvement, 2015 will see a serious attempt at the title. Additionally I will ride in a second class, Thunderbikes, and with just 30 minutes testing on a new bike, I was setting competitive times consistent with the top 5. Many lessons have been learned in 2014; the value of consistency, how to lead a race, importance of track time and mechanical excellence.

2014 Roundup

At the longer Brands Hatch GP circuit in August, I achieved my best ever qualifying of fourth. The weekend got better as I led my first ever championship race in the wet, finally coming second by a thrilling 0.014s (about six inches). In their media commentary, the ACU (the governing body of

motorcycle racing) commended the performance as, “One of the closest races this season”. Round eight at Snetterton saw my first crash of the year in race one, while fighting with the race leaders. I then fought my way back to the top ten from the back of the grid

and by Sunday, I was fighting for a second. Sadly a snapped chain the podium once more losing out resulted in a DNF (did not finish), by just 0.2 of a second. so again Sunday saw me fight my way back through the full Minitwin The final round of the year was grid, into the top ten and close to at Brands Hatch Indy circuit and I the leaders. qualified on the second row. Race 1 saw me on the podium, once more losing out on my first win by half

Friends and family provided great support throughout the season and enjoyed several exciting days racing. It was wonderful to see key sponsors at the tracks this season and I’m truly grateful for the time, advice and support provided bythese sponsors have enabled this season’s success.

I am offering the opportunity to be a part of an exciting 2015 project, to see your company at the front of two competitive championships. In exchange for a sponsorship contribution, your company will be featured prominently on my machine and team clothing for the entire season, gaining exposure around the UK. There are many different ways you can provide sponsorship. Sometimes it just takes a little creativity. Of course there is always monetary support. You could also become a product sponsor by providing items needed for the racing season. Often times sponsors will provide racers with unique types of sponsorship that have no direct correlation to racing itself, but allow funds that would normally be spent on other products or services to be used for the race team. I would be more than happy to discuss any ideas you may have.

With the technical support covered by Steve Jordan Motorcycles, sponsorship is required toward the costs of almost ÂŁ10,000 for a season, covering race entries, tyres and practice sessions.

The lead sponsor will have the option to have the bike painted in their chosen design, along with leathers.

Sponsors will receive space on the bike for their chosen design or logo, dependant on their contribution.

Team clothing will be produced with sponsor logo’s featured or chosen design. Sponsors will recieve extra recognition featuring on the Leathers. Supporting a title challenging racer with contacts in the British and World Superbike paddocks.
