Youth Be Served (And We Aren’t Talking About The Players) Ole Miss head coach Matt Insell, told his parents that he would be a head coach in the SEC by age 30 when he was 13 and well … he was right. When Insell was hired on March 28, 2013, he was 30 years old. At the tipoff of the 2013-14 season, Insell is the second youngest coach in Division I, trailing only High Point’s DeUnna Hendrix who is 29 years old. Insell is the youngest coach in the SEC and is the youngest coach of a BCS conference school. The next youngest coach of a BCS program is Colorado’s Linda Lappe who is 33.
