CHASIN’ TAIL One nice thing about Chasin' Tail is their commitment to stocking items made locally, from hand made feathery cat toys to hand dipped candles and up-cycled dog-wear made from ties. Be sure to say hi to shop dog Jewel.

Locally owned and operated , this fish shop has friendly, knowledgable staff, and takes pride in its immaculate storefront. They have almost anything one could want from beginning tanks to the “serious� fish collector tanks. Prices vary.

WARPAINT CLOTHING

Warpaint carries clothing for men and women. These original screen prints can be paired with other accessories found in the store. Currently they are running a special, buy $50 dollars worth of gear and any shirt on the sale rack is free.

Bad Granny’s Bazaar is a place where you never know what you’ll find. There is a limited selection of new items, mainly art, but primarily they deal in vintage furniture, records, clothes, dishes and the like. Honestly, we could spend hours in this store.

URBAN WINEWORKS A new winery in the Plaza district, Urban Wineworks has the bottle of “damn fine table wine” you need to round out a meatloaf or osso bucco dinner. Don't want to bother with corkscrews? You can have your wine in-house. OKC.NET staff recommend stopping in, relaxing on a couch, and sampling a glass of the Petite Sirah or Symphony.

NATIVE ROOTS If you want a genuine experience, go see the good people at Native Roots. They specialize in spices blends. And They’ve been holding down the fort in Norman, stocking local, organic meats and produce for awhile now. Go say howdy as they’re coming to OKC soon!

EPPERSON At Epperson the tell-tale scent of dark room chemicals and the knowledgeable, no nonsense staff will put even the most discerning photogs on notice; these folks do not mess around. Check out their fine selection of professional and niche specific lenses and goodies. Location: 3110 N. Honorable Mentions Sadly we were not able to visit all our favorite places. But if you have time these stores and/or services are worth checking out: Keep It Local!: Save at stores that participate in the Keep It Local! initiative, which aims to enhance the quality of life in Oklahoma by supporting the locally-owned and operated businesses that make Oklahoma great. Cards cost $10, and can be bought online or at any of the vendors listed on their website. Blue Sage Studio: Glass artisans that make everything from ornaments, to light fixtures and drawer pulls. They are part of the Urban Art collective. Check them out and watch them blow glass right there on location. t, an urban teahouse: Located near Blue 7, this mom and pop operation houses an impressive collection of teas and treats. And the space feels perfect for conversations shared over a pot of Chai, Oolong, or Earl Breakfast.
