ADAMS RURAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE LOCAL PAGES

This-n-That Spring is on its way! Flowers will bloom, birds will fill the air with song, baby calves will be running in the fields, and those wonderful signs will be posted shouting, “Yard Sale!” You know what they say — one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Yard sales are a great way to rid your house of clothes and items that you no longer use but someone else may want. Everyone wants their sale to be advertised to the best advantage, and what better way to get the word out than a sign that points the way? Perhaps you’ve lost your puppy or kitten. You sure do miss those little critters, especially if you have a child who is crying for their pet. How about putting its picture on flyers and hanging them around town? Or maybe you have a special event coming up, maybe a baby shower or reunion or such. Of course, you want everyone to find their way to the gathering. You think that perhaps a sign at the intersection would be perfect. Some of you may think I’ve lost my marbles and am just rambling on, but I have a very important message for you. Signs and flyers are great ways to advertise; however, all too often we see them tacked onto utility poles. Staples, tacks, and nails that are used to attach your sign or flyer pose serious safety hazards to utility employees when they must work on the poles. The

management at Adams Rural Electric Cooperative asks that you please do not attach anything to the utility poles. When you are ready to hang that sign, think about the safety of our employees and then determine a better way to advertise.
