Clive met Lyn whilst at Beechams and they were married on 19th May 1979. They have 2 girls Chloe and Laura aged 9 and 7. The funeral was held at Exton Parish Church near Oakham on 12th June 1991. Amongst over 150 people at the funeral were Robert Crabb, Jeremy Herbert, Malcolm Tappin, David Vanstone, Michael Caldwell, Richard Winney, John Hassan, Tony Cairns and W R Tanner. Clive was a popular person with a tremendous sense of humour. He has left many happy memories with the numerous friends he made in all his different pursuits. Professor Richard Roberts, who has died aged 67, was a financial historian who made it his mission to encourage the City of London to learn from its own past. From his base at King’s College London, Dick Roberts nurtured a wide network of senior contacts in the financial world – not least at the Bank of England, where he spent time as a research fellow, and the Treasury.
