How to start a Skype group text chat Start a Skype group chat with your contacts, set the Skype group topic and add to your favourites. To create a group chat first select a contact and click add people and choose the people you need in the conversation. Next, start typing in the chat window and click send message. Set the group’s topic by clicking the “i” symbol, to help people find it again later. To make the group show up in your contacts click the “save group in contacts” button. Now you can easily access this group chat when you need it. To leave the group chat simply right click on the topic name in your contact list and click “leave conversation”.
Skype can also be used to send SMS text messages.
No Emergency calls with Skype Skype is not a replacement for your ordinary telephone and can’t be used for emergency calls.
