Automotive marketing and communications executives are invited to attend the 7th annual OESA MarComm Summit: Audience Engagement in a Shifting Environment. This virtual event will be held on July 21, 2021, via Zoom.
The automotive industry is in the midst of an identity shift, with mobility and technology at the center. The convergence of several megatrends brings new opportunities for suppliers to strengthen their brand narrative and demonstrate the relevancy of their products and services within this new landscape. Dawn McDonald, executive director - global strategic marketing, communications & branding, Nexteer Automotive, and Nikki Little, vice president, Franco, will highlight the need to adopt an integrated approach across multiple channels and tactics to clearly connect the dots among megatrends, supplier brand and target audiences. They will share lessons learned and best practices for suppliers working to navigate the mobility industry’s rapidly changing communications needs.
In addition, Michel Bernaiche, senior marketing intelligence manager, Bose Corporation, will discuss a data-driven approach to business-to-business marketing in a business-to-consumer world.
Rhonda McNally, vice president marketing, Magna International, will share her insight and lessons learned as the industry has shifted to a virtual environment and back again.

Toyota Town Hall Meeting
July 27 | 2:00 - 4:30 p.m.
OESA invites members to attend the OESA 2021 Members-Only Toyota Town Hall Meeting with Robert Young, group vice president, purchasing supplier development, Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (TMNA), and other senior executives on July 27, 2021, beginning at 2 p.m. ET.
Young is responsible for TMNA’s vehicle parts, materials procurement and supplier development and will provide an update on Toyota Motor North America, Inc. purchasing activities.

As suppliers prepare for the second half of 2021, the supplier industry continues to be impacted as customers work to recover costs from 2020 and early 2021. This session will offer insight on how many of these challenges are influencing the current cost-recovery landscape.
Jonathan Jorissen, member, Brooks Wilkins Sharkey & Turco PLLC, will share insight on semiconductor chips and constraints including proceeding with the $110 billion elephant in the room, and what the OEMs and courts are saying.
Dan Sharkey, member, Brooks Wilkins Sharkey & Turco PLLC, will discuss increased freight, resin, steel, and labor costs and share tips for recovering from customers as well as fielding requests and claims from sub-suppliers.
Bert Donovan, member, Brooks Wilkins Sharkey & Turco PLLC, will discuss emerging issues in warranty and recall claims including supplier risks and opportunities regarding new customer costrecovery terms, programs, and tactics on warranty and recall claims, defenses, and negotiations. Donovan will also offer risk mitigation insights and strategies for suppliers of new technologies.
