Mt. Eden High School Concert Choir Ken Rawdon, Director The Mt. Eden High School Concert Choir comprises approximately 110 students from throughout the student body. The ensemble is open to any and all students regardless of musical background or experience. The concert choir is the musical “hub” of a 6-choir program. The choir has had distinct honors over the years, including performances with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, New York City’s Carnegie Hall and performances with the Oakland East Bay Symphony and chorus. They have traveled to New York, Hawaii, Florida, and Mexico as well as throughout the state of California. They consistently receive top honors, awards and accolades. Ken Rawdon has been directing vocal music at Mt. Eden High School in Hayward, California since 1990. He received his BA and his MA degrees in piano performance at California State University, Fresno. Mr. Rawdon has been active as a choral director for the last sixteen years. He has served on the board of directors for the California Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.
Mr. Rawdon’s many awards include the following: 1996 – Teacher of the year, Hayward Unified School District. 1997 – Educator of the year, Harvard University Alumni Club of San Francisco 2004 – Educator of the year, Hayward Chamber of Commerce 2012 – Choral Educator of the year, California Music Educators Association

Kugelplex is California’s rockin’-est purveyor of klezmer and old-world soul. Formed in 2001, the group inspires joyful, wild dancing at concerts, festivals and weddings throughout the Bay Area and beyond. This is Kugelplex’s seventh appearance at Break Bread! Their new album, The Frail Branch, is a journey through Yiddish-Turkish disco, Chassidic Carnivale, Smyrna taverna, swinging jazz, Romani crossroads, and good ol’ fashioned shtetl rockin’.
