Military and Veteran ID Cards
Veterans Recognition License Plate
If you are an active duty, reserve or national guard service member, dependent or retiree, you can get a Military ID at any DEERS location within Oregon. Appointments may be required. Call in advance for more information. Veterans receiving VA benefits may be able to get an ID card at medical centers or Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC). If you are not receiving benefits, you can choose to place your veteran status on your Oregon Drivers License (see opposite page). Please see VA location listings on page 12 to inquire about ID services available.
The Oregon DMV offers specialty license plates to veterans and service members who want to display their military service. You can choose from plates that indicate branch of service, campaign or service medals and some specialty military plates such as the Gold Star Family plate (see samples below). A portion of the fees from the veteran plates helps support the Oregon Veterans’ Home, a skilled-nursing care facility, located in The Dalles.
